You can now pay $340 for a very fancy Lara Croft statue

Expensive Lara Croft model is undeniably lovely.

If you love Square Enix's recent Tomb Raider reboot enough to spend $340 on a statue of it, well, you're in luck.

Admittedly, the statue looks fantastic. It's being produced by Gaming Heads, who also previously worked on a gorgeous Dovahkiin model from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It should be available from Q2 2014.

Gaming Heads says the 20-inch, hand-painted statue is made out of polystone resin from assets taken directly from the game. Alongside the bow, the model also comes with a combat shotgun.

The statue also features a numbered base and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Only 500 units will be produced, and those interested can now preorder the model from the Gaming Heads site.

Square Enix is also working on Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which is due to be released on January 28, 2014.

eh, hand painted or not it's still just a 3d model exported to a 3d printer.  It's not really a great pose either, i'm sure somebody will buy it but the market is going to be very limited for this.

$115 gets you an awesome sex toy that you can pretend is lara croft, so $340 is a rip off

I can't describe how much I hate Square Enix marketing-milking policies. Tomb Raider, the gaming idol of my youth fell into their hands too.

Nice to see a statue of Lara Croft covering her breasts instead of flaunting them.

I'll wait for the "definitive edition" of the statue with the remodeled face and real hair. Should be out sometime next year for $500.

Or you could just support real artists and buy a real sculpture or piece of artwork.

this is cool, but $340? That's too expensive

Lol. Why would someone pay for this +300$? It could be the proper Tomb Raider look (big tits, tight shorts with guns) and i still wouldn't buy it. But now that it's some popular emo/teen look, i certainly ain't gonna buy it. Especially considering that this is Tomb Raider reboot is the worst game in the history of videogames and definitely wasn't any Tomb Raider game to begin with..

Pay to raid Lara's Tomb, yes please.

@themc_7Hand-painted though. It does look pretty good. I can't imagine it could be made for much cheaper than that, considering it's not a mass-market item. Great for those who may be in the gaming business and have a lot of money, or to fill out a room with gaming-related furniture (for a games company/convention or something).

@quakkeWhile I found Tomb Raider to be the most disappointing game this year, this is most definitely not an emo/teen look. She's also 21 in the game.

@quakke If you didn't like the game, that's cool. But other people did, including me. You don't appear to be able to grasp that concept. I would not buy the statue, but I'll probably get the sequel. Perhaps her next outfit will get a little more provocative, but it doesn't matter as long as the gameplay is solid.

@quakke That's funny everyone said the same about your tastes in games. I know I know what they say don't matter... anymore than anything you had to say that is.....

@Chefjase@quakke

I have no problem in you liking this game or anyone else for that matter. It's just that it's enough when someone comes up with some ridiciolous shit like "this is the best Tomb Raider, way better than originals.." or the kinda thing that is above my comment "if by fact you mean incredibly ignorant opinion then yes fact". And also when people aren't fine in me liking my games how i want them (ie. challenging and innovating). You know like thing with Call of Duty. They should be allowed to get all the Call of Duty games and when i want a certain kinda FPS (DooM, Unreal Tournament), i'm being told that i just don't like shooters.

@themc_7@quakke"Better than Underworld", is that an argument? Underworld is a disgrace for the TR franchise and one of the worst games ever: dull graphics and environments, boring story, and full of glitches. I'm not sure if this game was ever tested before it came out. So yeah, Tomb Raider reboot is better than Underworld.

Casual casual casual is what it had. Watch out for that falling rock in this QTE SEQUENCE. Go hide behind that cover, go hide behind that cover. Now you can do some puzzles that are nothing compared to Tomb Raider 1. Have you even existed back in 1996? Or better yet, have you even played videogames back then? Didn't think so. Just another casual who got introduced to dumb games when gaming went mainstream.

And howabout health regen? What is this? Some robot who can heal just on own by itself? Play Tomb Raider 1 and originals and you're ****'ed because the games doesn't hold your hand at all. No dumb healthregens to walk you around the park..

"Stop harping on other people's hard work."

Casual who has no clue what he is talking about. TR 2013 has many bugs and needed patches and all and is typical DLC game (overall it's another half-assed piece of shit).. Back in the 90's games were made with passion, from start to finish 100% completed. But you wouldn't know about that since you weren't playing games back then because it was for "nerds only"..

I will never take you seriously since i know your background now.

@Slagar@quakke

You really think that i want some ignorant hostile people like "d-man" as my friends? No way. And i ain't here really to make friends with people who play games for wrong reasons. I'm here to give my opinnion and some people agree with me, some people not. Can't please everybody, and certainly don't want to. That is exactly what is wrong with this game. It tries to please many people. Mostly abandons it's true fans who made Tomb Raider what it is by buying the games through out the years. This is the appreciation those devs give to us?

d-man

@quakke You initiated the hostility, so to hell with your opinion or the kinds of games you like. Stop harping on other people's hard work.

Slagar

@horizonwriterSo true. I loved the exploration in the old games, and the almost complete absence of hand-holding. Playing Tomb Raider on the Sega Saturn, save points were few and far between - you'd get seriously punished by failing an important jump.

These days I get bored because games autosave every 5-seconds, meaning I literally cannot lose. And there are big GUI text hints that I can't turn off, telling me to press A button to jump.

That's why Dark Souls is so very refreshing.

Slagar

@quakkePeople reply harshly to you because you attack things that they like. Try _not_ assaulting ideas that you disagree with, and you might make some friends.

@quakke I think there are some things that the reboot has done much better than the original timeline did, and there are things in the first series that are superior. In my opinion, the reboot got character, story, atmosphere and gameplay controls right. I think the original series did a much better job on the sheer adventure, difficulty, puzzle solving, and platforming side of things. If they can take the depth of character and the emotional link in this one and also give the "tomb raiding" a much stronger presence then the sequel would be amazing.

@quakke I was born in 1986. Raised on Atari and NES. Sorry if I'm looking for more out of a game than Triangular tits. Original Tomb Raider is really not that good (I've played it). Get off your high horse and stop being such an asshole.

"Cover is realistic and tactical."

"Health regen makes total sense if you imagine getting grazed versus outright shot."

Phahahaaa, i almost died laughing. This just so proves my point. You don't have a clue what Tomb Raider is. "Cover is realistic and tactical" Well, guess what noob, Tomb Raider is not any tactical cover game to begin with. Tomb Raider is Puzzle Adventure game.

"it's not casual.."

Yeah right, phahahaa..

btw. Your private/closed profile doesn't help your cause either, since that just proves you don't want people to see from your gamecollection that you are a casual.

@quakkeYou are my hero! First of all I don't concider this "reboot" as Tomb Raider game at all. I haven't missed not a single Tomb Raider title, on PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, but this game has no place in my collection. To be honest I don't even acknowledge Crystal Dynamics as faithful TR developer to begin with. Legend, their supposedly best release can't hold a candle to Tomb Raider 3. As for the 2013 game, it's an Uncharted clone at best for the pre-school age gamers, that dares to use the same name as the 1996 classic! Those who enjoyed it, good for them, but I have different tastes in video games. I did manage to play it for a few hours just to have an opinion of my own about it, and frankly I'm quite surprised with myself that I endured for that long.

d-man
d-man

@quakke It's not "casual", it's just "different". Gaming evolved, get over it. QTE's are immersive and mix up the gameplay nicely, if you are too slow to mash a few buttons now and then, find a different hobby. Cover is realistic and tactical. Health regen makes total sense if you imagine getting grazed versus outright shot. And no more cumbersome health packs. Oh the puzzles are too easy? Whine whine whine, they are just fine and fit with the tone of the game, I have better things to do than waste my time on puzzles that take two hours to solve, I'd rather maintain the flow of gameplay. I played the originals and they are buggy, ugly, cheese-filled messes with terrible controls and a gross depiction of women in the main character. They weren't hard, they were just terribly un-intuitive and unbalanced. The Tomb Raider reboot was great. You are in the minority. QFT.

iansoup

@quakke  Well I existed in 1996, played all of them from the beginning and I certainly can say that this is a decent reboot. Story has evolved a lot compared to the previous ones, graphics and overall presentation make for an enjoyable experience. Yes the game has evolved to accommodate more casual gamers but really, the only ones who have a problem with it are the Eidos Tomb Raider purists from the past. I certainly was one of them, spent many hours trying to solve the puzzles myself since Google wasn't invented yet, but I welcome the updates to this series.

The reboot certainly isn't the worst game in the history of video games and the new look most certainly does not resemble an emo teen. And calling the fake boobs, excessively short shorts with guns look "proper" doesn't help your cause either.
