Xbox's Phil Spencer Says Dragon Age: Inquisition Is "Perfect" BioWare Game

Plus, check out a new trailer for the upcoming RPG right now.

Microsoft's Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, attended EA's Gamescom briefing today (read a recap here) and he had nothing but praise for one game in particular: BioWare's Dragon Age: Inquisition. Writing on Twitter, Spencer said "Dragon Age looks great. Perfect BioWare game."

Asked by a fan what his highlight of Gamescom has been so far, Spencer said, "Might be the Dragon Age demo, but it's just the first day." He added that he also thought Wild, the upcoming PlayStation 4 game from Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel, also "looked great."

Dragon Age: Inquisition was featured prominently at EA's Gamescom briefing today, and you can watch a new trailer for the game above. The game launches November 18 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC.

What is your "perfect" BioWare game? Let us know in the comments below!

Perfect game as in dialog choices but only good or bad and bi-sexual sex with all party members?

You can fight over where it's rating is correct or whether the resolution is high enough, I'll just sit here and enjoy the hell out of it.

This is the best of the previous games and then some. I'm stoked.

Why every Xbox's statement has to be so...stupid...

Not to start a flamewar but as good as bioware games are, they are far from perfect, they are always a little static in the way the actors deliver the lines and the dialog can be pretty bad too, just thinking about talking to a random stranger and they give you their whole flow-breaking life story, just so you can rescue their cat out a tree instead of SAVING THE FRIGGIN WORLD! and phil spencer also said X-Box One is good so I'll take it with a pinch of salt

Looks good but those hair textures on Cole and Dorian still look pretty naff......can't believe they haven't been able to sort them out properly yet!

hmmm....... the PR is starting late for this bioware game. now we wait for Laidlaw to say how amazing Inquisition will be (remember da2?)!!

Face and lips animations looks like it's still 2006 or something. Not impressed, even a little bit.

No Bioware game is perfect without calibrations and fish.

If this was a perfect BioWare game then we would be able to pick "giant miniature space hamster" as our character's race.

The perfect Bioware game is Baldur's Gate 2.  Or KOTOR.  Take your pick, but it's one of those two.

The villain is Corypheus, an evil Hawke unleashed in DA2 Legacy.

Planning another dik move Phil ? Not sure Bioware is in the third party exclusivity business.

Everything I've seen about the game so far looks fantastic.  Still think Phil has nothing of value to say about my hobby, I detest PR and that's all this guy does.

This trailer must be fake.  I don't see ga-y propaganda in it.  I think this is the wrong game folks.

the demo was played on an Xbox One or the guys were using a xbox one controller?

Well I didn't like DA:origins and I just played Mass Effect 2; controls on consoles are frustrating as f*** and framerate drop to below average. Seems their games are just not for me.

I will PRETEND DA2 NEVER HAPPENED

Phil Spencer: "Dragon Age will be exclusive to  Xbo... what's that? Damn it, Tomb Raider is now exclusive.... CRAP! I can't have that either??"

After watching the game play video I got really excited about this game. It looks absolutely stunning and the combat looks fast and great. I can't wait to pick this up.

There will always be those "gamers" who will do nothing but complain and be unhappy because the game doesn't fulfill their own selfish needs. The gaming world does not revolve around one person's desires, so get over it and take the game for what it appears to be, a great game so far.

Meh, gonna turn out mediocre, I just sense that. That's not bad, since mediocre is mediocre, heh. Perfect Biowaste game? Maybe for their current style.

Auriken

Pretty much every gamer who has seen the game has had nothing but great things to say about it. Even on this website they wrote about how much better than Dragon Age 2 it seemed. It's been getting nothing but praise from pretty much everyone...and you guys still refuse to acknowledge that it could actually be good. -_- I love the internet. It's such a beacon of intelligence and tolerance.

Eddie Makuch says "Dragon Age: Inquisition" is the perfect flame bait topic for GameSpot comments.  What do you think?

Bioware ruined this game for me by their constant sex and g.ay talk.

Thanks for selling Bioware to EA, Phil, so I can play those perfect games on my PS4!

@DecapitatedOrc I completely agree. On the other hand, it light years ahead on anything of anything in Mass Effect and Dragon Age thus far. Ok, may not "light years" but better.

@limakokba "remember da2"

See people say that, but all the complaints people had about DA2 they've fixed in this game. So really people are complaining about this game just to complain.

@cboye18 I was the same. Didn't like the combat in Origins and Mass Effect 2 was straight boring. Tedious missions with crappy uninteresting characters. No real choices in the entire game and then one choice thrown in at the end for good measure.

Thanatos2k

@Auriken How quickly you forget how much they praised Dragon Age 2 as well.

@Auriken I not criticizing the game but all the media outlets give games good previews.  Even Dragon age 2 was praised before it came out.

@Auriken I know so many negatively mental attitudes. So far its looking great. None of us will really know what it will be like until we play it. I personally am looking forward to it.

@balrogbane you do know that stuff is optional. I didn't come across any of that in ME or DA because I just wasn't interested in it.

@DutchZombie

I like how when they do something like let a company go off and do their games however they want to, spread their creations to the world, they're dumb.

And when they have an exclusive company their fascists.

Pony circular logic for the win!!!!!

@focuspuller @DecapitatedOrc tbf though though it is on a new system. if they managed to make something with worse graphics than DA:O i'd personaly get a plane over there and punch them all in the face

Jasper_73
Jasper_73

@chuckles471 Ofcourse and I dont look at every preview and think its going to be great. Like i said we'll have to wait until we play it before we really know if we are going to like it. It doesnt mean that I should expect that every game is going to be a fail, just because some games that looked like they might be good turned out not to be.

Well looking at the trend of bioware games quality that has been going downward since da2.

I think most users are right to be unsure about their next game. Until Bioware actually release a great game again, I dont think there is a reason to blindly believe in them again.
