TOKYO - At its Xbox Premier event today, Microsoft unveiled Jockey's Road. The game is being developed by veteran horse-racing game developer Progress, and it will bring a new role-playing element into the genre. As in previous horse-racing games, players assume the role of a jockey and race on a variety of tracks. In the game, more than 300 horses, which are randomly generated in polygon form using data inputted by the user, will be featured in the game. The script for the game will be written by Kenji Terada, who is known for his work as a scriptwriter for Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy II, and Final Fantasy III on the Famicom. The nine titles shown at Microsoft's Premiere event, including Jockey's Road, will appear at next week's Tokyo Game Show 2001 Fall event in Japan. No release date or pricing for the game has been announced at this time.
