Xbox One Titanfall for $25, Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes for $15 in New Deals With Gold

Xbox Live Gold members can get two of the Xbox One's biggest releases of the year for half price right now.

Microsoft's weekly Deals With Gold promotion doesn't typically offer great deals on Xbox One games, but this week, two major releases from the first half of the year are available for half price.

On Xbox One, Titanfall can currently be had for only $25, down from its regular price of $50. The game continues to be expanded with downloadable content, with the first of those expansions--Expedition--being offered right now for 30 percent off, making it less than $7. Also discounted is Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which can be had for $15 instead of the usual $30. The game has been criticized by some for its short length, so this lower price may make a purchase more palatable.

The Xbox 360 deals aren't quite as exciting as they have been in past weeks. If you've been holding out on buying Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, it's currently $30, while quality shooter Space Invaders Infinity Gene is just $5.

All of these deals require an active Xbox Live Gold subscription and are available through August 18. You can find the full list of discounts below.

Xbox One:

  • EA Sports UFC -- $40.19 (regularly $59.99)
  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes -- $15.00 (regularly $29.99)
  • Titanfall -- $24.99 (regularly $49.99)
  • Titanfall Expedition -- $6.99 (regularly $9.99)
  • Just Dance 2014 tracks:
    • "Can't Hold Us" - Macklemore -- $1.79 (regularly $2.99)
    • "Timber" - Pitbull Ft. Ke$ha -- $1.79 (regularly $2.99)
    • "Gangnam Style" - Psy -- $1.79 (regularly $2.99)
    • "Sexy And I Know It" - LMFAO -- $1.79 (regularly $2.99)
    • "Don't You Worry Child" - Swedish House Mafia -- $1.79 (regularly $2.99)

Ground Zeroes for $15? what a great discount for a demo!

Don't buy Titanfall!  Even at this price, there's never been a worse time!  Save your $$ and get Destiny in three weeks.  Titanfall's lobbies will be full of tumbleweed and nothing but tumbleweed once Destiny gets off the ground.......

Given that almost all the criticism about Titanfall was over its lack of content for the price they were asking, it is a must buy at $25 if you like competitive shooters and haven't taken the plunge.

Still not paying cash for a demo. *cough*MGS:GZ*cough*

$15 still seems pretty steep for MGS:GZ, considering it'll only take less than a couple hours to complete.

Good to see they finally put some good games on sale and for a good price on Xbox One.  However it is still a mess navigating their marketplace.

@spacecadet25 I agree. You can count all the games on hand now. But what will it be like in a year or two?

Nothing really stellar on that list. Might get the Titanfall Expedition of maybe the season pass.

There must be something wrong with this annoncement.

I am shown that the game costs €35 for gold members

I was on the fence with Titanfall but that price is very alluring.

What you think?

@sladakrobot If you like FPS games and don't mind playing with 12 year olds or people with 12 year old mentalities.  I don't care for FPS anymore so I am a bit biased.

spacecadet25

@sladakrobot  Totally worth it.  Even if you are more casual about online shooters, this is a good game.  it has plenty of bots in every multiplayer match, so even if you aren't as good as the other human players at least you'll be getting plenty kills on bots so you can have fun too, instead of just getting totally owned.

No single player though, but for this price it's great.

@Attitude2000 @spacecadet25 @sladakrobot  Yep, I hope more multiplayer games follow suit with this.  Inclusion of bots is a great way to get new players involved and having fun, and yes, lack of killstreak perks cuts down on people getting screwed (and hackers exploiting it).  The burn cards are sufficient perks, but I wish they lasted a few matches (or lives) instead of being so short lived.

Attitude2000

@spacecadet25 @sladakrobot That's what I like about it. I'm nowhere near a pro gamer but with bots around I get kills. And since everyone gets a Titan at least once, I don't HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT A GODDAMN KILL STREAK.

@sladakrobot Go for it.

Great action like Halo and COD, but with faster speed like Unreal Tournament. Seriously hard to go back to the other competitive multiplayer games after moving so fast on foot (and on walls).

@sladakrobot Half a game for half the price. Reason I bought PVZ was the price point. It intrigues me as well but I didn't like the beta so I'm still not jumping in. I'm sure it'll be free soon

spartanx169x

@sladakrobot  IF you like shooters, you should like it. Just mute everybody before the match (which is standard procedure for me).  Once you learn the maps its fun. The kids that play on there make for easy targets.

PikminWorld

@sladakrobot I think it's a pretty good deal. Titanfall is fun at times but, gets boring after awhile and the campaign was disappointing so I wouldn't say it was worth the original price but, for that price I would say yes.

vinman1169
vinman1169

It doesn't have a real campaign. Its multi player also.

vinman1169

By the time its free there will be no need to get it. By then no one will be playing it.

@sladakrobot Save your $$ and get Destiny in three weeks.  It's release will ensure that the Titanfall lobbies are pretty desolate......

That didn't take very long for Titan fall to drop in price.

It's a sale to promote DLC not a price drop

Is Metal Gear Solid worth the $15? I passed at first for all the negative marks against it.

MrFreehuggs
MrFreehuggs

@im_jiggypoo No it is not worth the $15 unless you are an achievement hunter. I'm embarrassed I spent $30 on it. It ends extremely quick. It is pretty though

alaannn

@im_jiggypoo i think its included with metal gear 5,its sort of like a demo if i understand it right

gokartmozart89
gokartmozart89

@im_jiggypoo The answer to this is very subjective. Huge Metal Gear fans will love it. It's got some replay value via various game modes that open up after you beat it the first time. It also sets up the story for Phantom Pain. But that first mission is short. It really takes as long as you want it to due to exploration and various paths that can be taken (I cleared them all). But if you're not a big fan of the series then this isn't for you. I'd say $10 is the sweet spot.

Attitude2000
Attitude2000

@im_jiggypoo The only negative I've heard is it's too short. If you're a Metal Gear Fan I'm confused as to why you don't have this already.

imajinn
imajinn

@im_jiggypoo If you plan on playing it thoroughly, then yes its worth it. If your gonna speed run it, save your money.

@sonyonly4 @HonorOfGod Call me crazy but ... I rather play a EA game than a Kojima game and that is saying allot.

@sonyonly4 @HonorOfGod Ah sonyonly4, one of the few people on this site that once I see their profile name I know something nonsensical will ensue.  However it's not usually funny or quirky, it's just usually toxic, biased and uninformed.

That's the price both o those games should have sold for from launch. some 'deal'

Titanfall is so damn tempting but I already have too many games I need to finish

MrFreehuggs
MrFreehuggs

@ps3gamer1234 I get that, but I get sucked into multiplayer games easily. I will never finish anything else

PixelAddict

@MrFreehuggs Your temptation is rewarded with some happy the first time you have your titan rip off another titan's arms as a sort of Mortal Kombat kill move.

Go for it.
