EA Sports releases demo for upcoming MMA game, and it includes the full tutorial system.

The previously announced EA Sports UFC demo is out now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, allowing anyone to try Electronic Arts' upcoming MMA brawler. The demo features a rematch of last year's UFC 165, pitting Jon Jones against Alexander Gustafsson. Both athletes are featured on the game's cover.

Also included with the EA Sports UFC demo is the game's full tutorial system, which should help you get up to speed with the game's basics. EA has also drafted a collection of tips and tricks for you to use to up your game.

EA Sports UFC runs on the EA Sports Ignite engine and is coming exclusively to Xbox One and PS4. The full game launches on June 17 in North America and June 20 in Europe. For more on EA Sports UFC, check out GameSpot's previous coverage, including our "Gameplay vs. Realism" feature.

the game's got good graphics but it's not devoid of issues, there's an annoying motion blur effect that spoils a lot of the replays, and considering it's only two people fighting in a cage, (plus a referee) it's not impressive in terms of graphics, it's fun to play, but the takedowns and submission system can get frustrating. It feels like a good try but it falls some way short of the mark in my opinion from the demo I've played.

I'm going to side with THQ on this one....they might not have had the most reliable servers, but they had superb controls and game play.  EA is known for it's smooth life-like graphics, and it stands out in the demo. However, they seem to care more about that, then the actual game play itself.  The controls are bulky, and over thought.  The delay in button to on-screen movement is horrible.

I get what they are trying to accomplish with the new blocking system (classic fight night counter method), but mma is more about the body movement..the sway & parry.  THQ allowed fighters to execute this easily, and made blocking an after thought.  Now if you choose to both block and sway effectively, it's a horrible experience.

I distinctly remember EA making a promise to keep legacy controls for the users who have been on board with the franchise since THQ inception.  It's not that I don't like change, it's just that THQ actually did have the better game play.  The submission game was THQ's weakness, and it transcends into EA"s debut.

Hey EA, here's a simple equation..... THQ Pro Controls + EA graphic engine = Great Success

Lose the blocking system and make it more about sway and parry with a generic block..it's not a boxing game..I'm guessing your engineers who developed fight night got first priority on this one :)

Watch any MMA fight....you don't see a fighter block a strike and throw a hard counter, that's boxing.  You DO see a fighter like Machida or Anderson Silva lean back, parry a strike and throw a counter.  Or watch Rampage Jackson roll under a punch and throw a massive upper cut. That's more realistic.  If we MMA fans wanted a boxing game, we'd go buy Fight Night.  We want an MMA game.

A demo is supposed to generate interest in a game & encourage people to definitely buy it when the full release comes out.  However, after playing the demo I've changed my mind from "I want it" to "I'm not buying it now".

Will this come out on PC? I can't stand gaming on a console, and this does look like quite a bit of fun.

It's just the demo. patience... not the finished product.

I'm curious I just finished playing this and feel compared to the thq version on undisputed EA sucks at making this game. The controls lag and are just too much and confusing does anybody feel the same way?

The game feels very loose and not super responsive.  Doesn't seem to be much weight behind even the significant strikes.  Never really feels like you hurt the other fighter.  Still mildly interested to see what the final product looks like.

Come on EA! You want to make everything look så realistic, but still you don't understand that the camera movement is the one thing that matters the most. I don't get it! Look at it, the camera moves like it is motion tracked to the fighter you control. THAT is the one thing that completely ruins it. is it that hard to put som delay and natural movement on the camera view? Come on guys!. I'm not impressed.

You know, I didn't much care for that Grudge Match movie with Stallone, but they made a fairly astute observation that MMA is nothing more than a couple rods wrestling around on a mat, maybe throwing a few punches and kicks here and there, but for the most part, an outside observer might regard the UFC as a form of homoeroticism. Boxing is a real sport.

EA should of worked on a boxing game instead, the striking of this game just feels useless and ineffective...

Its far too gimmicky with 'signature strikes'...

A power punch is a power punch why beat about the bush and try to call it something else?

I'm sure they will in the long run make a great UFC game but for now I really want to see another fight night game, boxing games are easier to make and by god we're due one by now.

If THQ had ever come up with a good submission system and not removed flash KO's, they pretty much had a perfect game.

@mark5225 Yeah, there is a delay when attacking making the game feel slow and sluggish.  They should just stick to Fight Night.

@phb ITS A DEMO!!!! Didn't you notice that you cant adjust the options.

@electrichobo99 There is nothing homoerotic about MMA unless you consider a guy beating the hell out of his wife heteroerotic. If violence gives you a boner, thats because you are demented. Normal well adjusted folks dont find anything remotely erotic about violence, whether homo or hetero.

@electrichobo99 Wow, one of the most ignorant statements I have ever seen about MMA.  I am sure you will claim that you have seen a ton of MMA fights, but your comment makes it appear as if you have NEVER seen a fight.  I guess I could claim that boxing is just a couple guys grabbing each other over and over with a ref having to break them up, oh, and they throw a few punches here and there.

@smackdowner360 I have preorded it, and I kinda agree with you. The game was one of the best sports games out there. Why did EA try to fix what wasn't broken. balls.

@alschwayz @phb Let me have my rant about this now! Its NOT because its a fking demo. Its the same as is has always been in every EA Sports game. The TOO PRECISE and unnatural camera motion is ruining it, why should that change in this full game when its the same in every other game they release?

@Bjjallday i dont think that homoerotic wink helped...
