Xbox One Killer Instinct characters will be $5 each
Microsoft confirms upcoming fighting game will launch with free fighter Jago, rest will be available for purchase individually or through bundles.
Free-to-play Xbox One fighter Killer Instinct will release with one free character--Jago. The rest, Microsoft confirmed today, will be available for $5 each.
Players can also purchase discounted character packages. The Combo Breaker Pack ($20) features the first eight characters (six at launch, two later), while the Ultra Edition ($40) packs in the eight characters, as well as accessory packs, costumes, and a digital copy of the original Killer Instinct game.
Microsoft also today announced the latest fighter to join the previously confirmed lineup--Thunder. He joins Jago, Sabrewulf, and Glacius for the upcoming fighting game.
Killer Instinct is one of 23 Xbox One launch titles, alongside games like Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4. The Xbox One launches in November for $500.
Microsoft recently said Killer Instinct is "not some hacked-off remake" and not a "cash-in."
