Xbox One games shipping now

Microsoft confirms Xbox One launch titles have gone gold and are currently heading to retailers.

Various Xbox One launch titles have gone gold and are now heading to manufacturing for mass production before being shipped to retailers, Microsoft announced today. These games include Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, and Zoo Tycoon, among others.

"It's almost time. There are just 11 days to go before Xbox One's worldwide launch on Nov. 22, and all the wheels at Xbox HQ are in motion," Microsoft said.

Microsoft also released a number of images showing crates of Xbox One games in a warehouse. Labels on the packaging clearly state that the games are not to be sold before November 22.

Sony, on the other hand, began selling PlayStation 4 launch title Killzone: Shadow Fall, as well as various PS4 peripherals, in October, half a month ahead of the system's official launch on November 15.

When it's all said and done, I wonder who will have the best launch experience -- hardware, software, services, games, etc -- between Microsoft and Sony...

Gone gold.  Gone........gold.  Nope - I still don't get it.

@VakarianGirl I believe that way back in the '90s -- the middle ages of gaming -- when software was finished the developer would burn it onto a gold disc to be shipped off for duplication and distribution. Unlike other discs that were burned up until that point, the gold disc symbolized software that was ready to ship.

I got my PS4 5 days ago for some reason, i was expecting it at the 20th or something.

Anyways, i went to a PS official store nearby looking for games and found AC4 so i bought it...even though i have it on my PS3, and i can tell you this, the graphics are gorgeous!

ENJOY DEAD RISING 720P 16-20FPS AT LAUNCH

720p @ 30fps  Dead Rising 3....so much for next gen eh?  Forza 5, The majority of the content cut out to make room for more DLC.  Have to pay xbox live gold to unlock majority of the features.  Im sure BF4 on next gen will be as broken and unplayable as PC and current gen version....No thanks microsoft, Ill stick to PC.  Your Halo and Gears of War exclusives dont intrigue me in the slightest.

I chose a gaming pc over the new consoles.

Still no Xbox One game reviews huh..

If only either console had a game that could justify the $400 or $500 purchase of the console on launch day

@xXxIRyanxXx for people like me that have traded in their ps3 and only have pc to go on i think the line up is quite good AC4,KZSF,BF4,NFS and knack i think that will be enough for now

Oh I cant wait to hear the Xbots rage when Ryse gets slammed by critics as we all expect.

meatz666
meatz666

@prats93 From all the information I gathered, Ryse is a game that should get 6 tops. It's that weak.

e424pd5

@prats93 So it's pretty much a bloodier/prettier Knack? Launch titles are almost always week. At least there's Killzone and Dead Rising to look forward too

meatz666
meatz666

@e424pd5 @prats93 Knack looks more like a Mario+Lego wannabe, not a great sign either. Gameplay-wise, Ryse looks like Enslaved, or another button masher. Buying a console solely on it's day one exclusives is kinda dumb. Because in June of 2014 one platform might release a game changer exclusive...

meatz666
meatz666

If you'll evaluate what is the best new nextgen platform this month, you're pretty dumb.

To evaluate the platforms properly, we have to wait, at least, one year after launch.

Everything before this will sound like a dumb Nostradamus wannabe, regardless of the side.

as an early critic of the Xbox's "media central" philosophy, I am very much blown away by this technology. However, as impressive as it is, it is not what I am looking for in a gaming console. That being said, I hope the PS4's UI has a similar degree of navigational ease.

I wonder how much money Microsoft paid various outlets to get positive reviews for Ryse and Dead Rising 3, I guess we'll know in a week or two.

@Stevo_the_gamerI didn't imply u guys too, more like smaller sites to raise the Metacritic average. And IGN of course :)).

@Demanufactur3 I feel like they took a colorful fun zombie game and turned it into another brown action game. I'm on the fence but I'm not optimistic.

Daian

@blackace it LOOKS good but it probably plays like crap, just a bunch of QTEs in a linear game. Lots of potential probably wasted.

GOW is well recieved by critics and maybe Ryse gets the one or other decent review. I wouldn't condemn it just yet.

That said, as a huge fan of hack and slay game i find many other titles way better than the GOW games :)

Daian
Daian

@H4num4n never said I was a big fan of that game. And come one, that game does everything it does better than most others in its genre and I only played a part of the first.

@Daian @blackace Good thing you have read up on the game RECENTLY, because if you did you would KNOW that's not what it is at all lol.  Classic fantard.  I'm not saying the game will be good or bad, but I read up on everything and know where it's "at" before I comment on it.

IGN had a good write up on the final build where they got to play a lot more of the game that hasn't been shown yet and they really liked it.  Which is saying something because up until that they weren't fans of it at all.

meatz666
meatz666

@blackace @Demanufactur3 @Daian Most of the media that doesn't have NDA already said that Ryse is a 6-score tops.

Dead Rising 1 and 2 were dumb, and nobody believes that 3 will be different.

Stop being a fanboy, and let's discuss next-gen properly, without fanboyism and corporativism.

Looking forward to dead rising 3, it seems like a fun P*ss about and kill stuff game...

Ryse looks like it's utter shite though :)

So if they post negative reviews it's the truth, and if they post positive reviews it's because Microsoft paid them off. OK, got it.

Just out of curiosity, what is it like at the asylum?

At least, Microsoft can deliver your games to retailers, not like Sony, that only have indie games. There is no differences between Playstation 4 and Ouya, they just have indie titles.

@Diegoctba Dont knock Indie games!!! Most Indie games are 10-20x better than most the crap EA and activision spews out these days.  And they actually work on launch day, unlike most EA titles.

Microsoft Ban the poor bastard who got Xbone early: engadget.com/2013/11/09/early-xbox-one-details/

@meatz666 none of what you posted is really a big deal... He got banned until launch day. OMG such a bad thing!!!??? he gets to play the xbox one when everyone else does.. who cares.

xTheTrueSeekerx
xTheTrueSeekerx

The "ban" is only until closer to launch date, and all it does is block the use of online services so games still work no problem. And the ban is on the console, not the gamertag, so he can still use his 360 without hindrance until launch.

Cinemablend doesn't even have a game critic, much less a lawyer. They do have William Usher, though, for whatever that's worth.

@meatz666 @adders99

For somebody who preaches about being impartial, you've left out a lot of facts. A distributor sent a product several weeks ahead of its release and the XB1/Live service is fully ready yet so obviously they'll ask him to sign an NDA.  The video has been put back up on Youtube. MS are paying for him to get out to Toronto for a launch event. He has even praised the way MS have dealt with it and that he doesn't blame them at all and that has nothing to do with the NDA.

Objectively speaking, both consoles have their fate in their own hands. PS4 has more power and recently, Sony has had some great exclusive games so if they can get some more great titles out they'll win the gaming war. However, they're also going to need to ramp up their all-in-one entertainment efforts as no matter how much people hate Microsoft for that, it is going to be the future.

Microsoft has got some decent launch titles but the power is a concern. PS4 could potentially put XB1 into the Wii category of an inbetween of console generations. How Kinect integrates into games will be interesting but ultimately it has huge potential especially for the mutlimedia side of things. XB1's entertainment line up and package is fantastic but again the cost of the live service could be an issue. Sony seems to have done a lot to its online and as result ,the fact MS charges for Gold means that its going to need to keep expanding that service.

2 cracking consoles, 2 different consoles. At this stage no 1 console better than the other. Time will decide the winner.

@davidmayne7 @meatz666 @adders99 I swear that I'd post PS4 REAL news when:

1) It's a Gamespot article about PS4.

2) I find stuff about Sony/PS4 that the doritocracy is not showing.
