[UPDATE] All Xbox One Day One consoles from Amazon are now sold out.

The original story is below.

Xbox One Day One consoles will be available at Amazon as of 8 a.m. EDT today, though it is unclear how many additional units have been prepared for this offer.

The Day One consoles--guaranteed to arrive on November 22--feature a commemorative controller, token code to unlock a Day One achievement, and premium packaging.

The Xbox One launches publicly this Friday, though the consoles remain sold out at various retailers including GameStop, Best Buy, and Target.

All Microsoft Stores across North America will have extra Xbox Ones in stock on launch day, starting at 12:01 a.m. on November 22 on a first-come first-served basis.

Here is my question... why not just preorder in june when it became available? they didnt charge me until today and you could have cancelled with 2 clicks.

Looks to be like another good hardware launch and a great start to a new generation of consoles.  Fun times....

I managed to get one this morning, and it has already shipped for Friday delivery.

Let us praise Amazon's wisdom for keeping their inventory extremely low.

Good Work Amazon!

Who else bought it today? And when does it say it will ship?

Microsoft up to their silly tricks again, deceasing supply to get sold out headlines to imply greater demand, exactly like they did with the Surface and look how that ended up !

i was lucky enough to get one today but can anybody tell me, if their xbox is shipping yet?

This is good news for the people who wanted one and never got the chance to preorder it months ago. I just hope there aren't as many cases of defective Xbox One's as there appeared to be PS4's.

This is the case because very few people have actually pre-ordered one to begin with. Lol.

I actually got one... I talked to customer service to confirm my order and the guy at the other end congratulated me saying the stock was only up for 4 minutes... So stoked!!! :D

All I'm seeing is "Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available."

Not that I would buy one anyways >_>

@de-astroturfer nothing in this is different from what happened with the PS4. preorders sold out month ago, and right before release day, at midnight, amazon offered a limited stock which sold out in 20 minutes. exactly like with the xbox now

@theqaked Mine is already in Shipping Now status with an expected delivery date for Friday, but I ordered mine on June 11th. Don't know about the guys who ordered one today. It's pretty much the same timeframe that took place last week when I got my PS4.

@theqaked Not yet! I have 1 day shipping and currently says expected delivery as Nov 25th. I hope its a placeholder :)

@RicanV That's why PC is the master race. Never tried to buy a graphic card that was "sold out". :P

@19James89 The fail rate for the PS4 seems to be around 1%. Mostly due to the old saying that the sqeaky wheel gets the most oil. The Xbone will prob. be the same. I can't imagine all this R&D time for both consoles and them both having massive hardware failures like on the 360.

@Queuingreturns Maybe dude... why the negativity? The important thing is, the people who really wanted it were able to get one...

@Tigerbite2 yet you came to this page, commented on it, and apparently clicked the link to Amazon. You're either lying or you're a filthy troll who should return to your bridge.

@danielgrad

Well perhaps if Microsoft released the exact figures they set aside for the xbox day one edition you might have a point but they haven't, they merely allotted limited stock to each retailer and made them sign a NDA so they were prevented from disclosing those limited numbers, Its widely accepted that Sony have made far more units available for preorder than Microsoft have

I bought it today and it's says it will ship the 26th also I have prime.

@marauder_666 @theqaked I talked to them and confirmed I'll be getting it on Friday.

"Yes you will receive the order on time.
Do not worry.
You will also receive an e-mail in the next 18 hours confirming your updated delivery promise date which depends on the shipping speed you selected at checkout.
However since you are a Prime member you will receive it on the release date."

@marauder_666 It's severely underpowered and overpriced, but if you like kinect and watching tv while playing videogames you should be fine. Who knows m$ may  become the new nintendo, but they'll need better exclusives.

Riddick123
Riddick123

@marauder_666 The negativity is because many current 360 fans are very disappointed with this console/cable box.  Feel free to go through the tens of thousands of posts on past articles since the reveal as I am not going to make a list of things here.

Riddick123

@themc_7 @Tigerbite2 And yet you took time to reply to his comment, thus validating he was able to troll someone successfully.

@KimCheeWarriorX @howiex89 @de-astroturfer No Its not called marketing its called bullshit, I remember the days when they just stocked the shelves with as much as they could produce and sold a product on its own merits not some jumped up fake demand psychological trickery.

Pure opinion. My views are completely different! But that's 'my' opinion. I don't try and pass it over as fact. Will also end up with a PS4 aswel, when the games start coming.

@KimCheeWarriorX  I have to ask, do you Wattle Gobble (see the DLC article for BL2) Kim Chee?  If you do, that is impressive.  I can't take the smell let alone the taste.

KimCheeWarriorX

@AzureBonds76 @Riddick123 @marauder_666 right, now this is the part where you give us some random gamertag of someone with the exact same gamerscore and claim that its yours right? its the old "i actually used to be an xbot but switched to the competition" act. oldest one in the book. try again sonypony.

marauder_666
marauder_666

@Riddick123 @marauder_666 I see... My comment was only referring to this particular article... Anyway I have been following the whole story since the announcement and agreed with most of the gamers' issues... Requirement of Kinect, DRM, Online etc. It was good that they listened to the feedback and removed those. Maybe the pre-order numbers made them retract but in the end they did.

I personally think Microsoft had a vision for the xbox one . It might have been a money hungry vision (they are not a non-profit) or they might have genuinely wanted to push a futuristic vision. Either way, it failed and we wont know how it might have panned out.

But, foremost I am a gamer, I have the wii, ps3, 360, 3ds, vita and the fact is there are games on the X1 that matter to me and many(Forza 5, Halo 5, Quantum Break, etc). As does the PS4 which I' ll be getting for uncharted4, Order 1886, Infamous etc. I celebrated the PS4 launch last week and will celebrate the xbox one launch (NYC yeah!)...

Ending rant with...Gaming FTW!

AzureBonds76
AzureBonds76

@peterus22 Yea you are right. Although Sony had a monopoly during the PS1 era and some great games came out of it and not much BS. FF7 and Resident Evil anyone?

peterus22
peterus22

@AzureBonds76 @Mommas_b_o_y  They did, but i don't think that the Xbox one will be a fail. I think both consoles will be in the near sale figures. After all, let's hope both consoles make it because competition is good for us! imagine if the Xbox one was the only console... They never would have changed the DRM policy. So enough with the console wars and just enjoy every minute of it!

AzureBonds76
AzureBonds76

@Mommas_b_o_y What many people don't realize is that these people who switched are the hardcore gamers that buy many many games a year. The ones who spend a lot of moolah on DLC. The ones the companies profit from the most. I have 30 360 games sitting in front of me. And I have DLC for so many games.. Dark Souls, Skyrim Borderlands 2 fallout new vegas etcetcetc I've spend a lot of money and will continue to do so. PS4 games are out preodering Xbone games 2 to 1. MS lost a lot of customers this summer.

Mommas_b_o_y
Mommas_b_o_y

@dlCHIEF58 @Riddick123 @marauder_666 lol 5? M$ has lost most of the advantage in market share it had over sony in america. hundreds of thousands of xbox fans have gone over to ps. I'm surprised even more haven't. There is nothing gaming wise x1 has over ps4

AzureBonds76
AzureBonds76

@Riddick123 @marauder_666 This is the truth. I have 106k gamerscore on my 360 and I dont play games for acheivements, so Ive been with the 360 for a long time. Also have my original Xbox sitting on my desk. Too bad the Xbone failed. I was going to get one.
