Microsoft has announced the free games that Xbox Live Gold members will receive in July, and it includes four games in total--one of which was already made free during June.

As the Games with Gold program is still new to Xbox One (it only started earlier this month), we're still learning about how Microsoft will handle things. It seems that the free games offered won't necessarily be swapped out every month, as Max: The Curse of Brotherhood--one of the two free games in June--will remain free throughout July. Halo: Spartan Assault, on the other hand, will go back to its regular price on July 1, when Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will be made free in its place.

On the Xbox 360, Gotham City Impostors will be the free title beginning on July 1. On July 16, it will be replaced for the remainder of the month by BattleBlock Theater.

The Games with Gold initiative works a lot like PlayStation Plus' Instant Game Collection on Xbox One. Xbox Live Gold members only have access to the games included for as long as they remain Gold subscribers, although they can continue to play the free games they've downloaded even after their original price is reinstated.
