The ESPN app on Xbox 360 has officially bitten the dust. After last week's announcement that the app would be pulled down very soon, that has now happened.

A notice posted on the Xbox Live Status website makes clear that the ESPN app is no longer available. Sports fans looking to keep up with news and videos on an Xbox console are advised to "please check out ESPN on Xbox One for everything you love about ESPN on Xbox 360."

ESPN's Xbox One app gives you access to the network's broadcast content through its WatchESPN functionality. It also supports Snap, allowing you to watch content and perform other tasks at the same time.

Additionally, the app features ESPN Fantasy Football integration to let you see team and player stats, among other things during the NFL season.

With the ESPN Xbox 360 app no longer available, the Xbox One is the only console with an ESPN app, though you can still get it through Amazon Fire and Roku, among other devices.

An ESPN app is not available on PlayStation 4, but programming from the sports giant is available through the PlayStation Vue TV service.
