Xbox 360's 30-player battle game Happy Wars coming to PC

Free-to-play game Happy Wars coming to Steam in 2014; sign up for the beta now.

Xbox Live's first free-to-play game, the multiplayer battle title Happy Wars, is coming to PC through Steam in 2014. The news comes by way of a newly launched website for the game, which also lets you sign up for a beta that's set to begin April 30 and run through May 13.

Happy Wars launched in October 2012 and has seen more than 6 million players on Xbox 360 to date. The game supports up to 30 players (15 vs. 15), who must attack their opponents' castle while simultaneously defending their own.

On Xbox 360, Happy Wars requires an Xbox Live Gold ($60/year) membership, so it's not exactly free. The game also offers various in-game microtransactions, but these are of course optional. Happy Wars is developed Japanese studio Toylogic.

So a much-hated 360 game gets ported to the PC and suddenly people mock the PC gamers.

Pc gamers are going to try to mod this game to death. I'm sure there will be lots of cheats for it within the first 6 months.

Take it, PC players! And take it so hard that it'll get the fug off of Xbox 360!

I played this game. Its fun in its own way. If you are willing to commit to it, you can become very powerful without paying for the MTs.

Lame.  Anyone who puts this on their PC is a heretic.

MEH FTP Crap needs to get the fuck off our consoles. We are willing to pay for games on consoles. Not for in game transactions.

@blackace  Lol, equaling mods with cheats. You obviously don't know what you are talking about XD

@blackace  I'm sure there will be official game servers that have detection.

Modding is more about playing a different game that uses the same engine. Look at Brutal Doom to see just how much better a game can get through modding.

You have yet to learn the benefits of PC gaming. Please, either educate yourself by actually knowing PC gaming or quit whining and stick with your console.

@Riddick123 The game is actually fun and pretty deep. Tons of weapons, armor, spell, etc... Takes a while to level up, but it's still a great game. You really don't have to pay anything extra to get decent weapons and armor. I didn't think it was going to be good either until I actually tried it.

@Riddick123  You wouldn't know what a good game is if it hit you in the face kid.

@labub_007 lol these devs are not in charge of Gears. It would be like asking Naughty Dog to port God of War to PS4.
