Wreck-It Ralph hitting DVD and Blu-ray this March

Disney-animated film available for download in HD Digital and HD Digital 3D; physical version to come with two-disc and four-disc ultimate collector's edition.

The hit animated movie Wreck-It Ralph will be out in digital and physical DVD and Blu-ray form early this year.

Ralph's gonna wreck it at home this February and March.

According to Disney Home Video, the digital version will be out on February 12 and will be available in HD digital and HD digital 3D formats. The physical versions will be out on March 5.

In addition to a standalone DVD release with no extra features, Disney will release a two-disc collecter's edition and a four-disc ultimate collector's edition. The former set contains the DVD and Blu-ray versions while the latter edition contains both aforementioned formats as well as the Blu-ray 3D and digital copy.

The digital, collector's edition and ultimate collector's edition will come with bonuses such as the "making of" feature called "Bit by Bit: Creating the Worlds of Wreck-It Ralph", alternate and deleted scenes, video game commercials for the titles created for the movie, and the animated short called Paperman that was shown before the film in its theater run. The Blu-ray copy will also have a video feature which points out the many video game references in Wreck-It Ralph, hosted by stand-up comedian Chris Hardwick.

Really good movie, needed less Jane Lynch and less pop music outside of the one game, but other then that it is a really good movie.

How about a fan edit that removes all the Sugar Rush parts.

I got this movie on bootleg when it was still in Cinemas and this movie was so good my daughter like it too. I'll wait until a price drop for the Blu-ray but still if you have not saw the movie, it's good and it's Toy Story meets Video Games in a way.

“I’m bad and that’s good, I will never be good and that’s not bad, because there’s no one I’d rather be than me. :)

I'm a little confused, why is this on my gaming news site and not on my movie news site?

Great movie.  Took my daughter to see it and fell in love with it.  Disney are really starting to get their act together lately with some smart writing, and more important they're remembering Walt's motto... 'For every laugh there should be a tear.'

Saw the movie yesterday, and I was blown away. This just makes me want to learn how to be an animator more. The movie had everything!! I for one will be getting the Ultimate Collector's Edition, and you should too. Buy now while supplies last!!

Just popped in to say, as someone who just saw this today, that the movie is actually pretty freaking sweet.

I liked this movie in the theatres opening week, but I didn't love it. Still, I will be picking up the Blu-Ray on sale when I get the chance...which will be this March. First week sales FTW! :P

It's just because it's a movie about video games (and famous character) and it's better to read that than “video games are too violent for you”. ;)

Slow day at the office I see, but regardless I'm interested to hear the commentary by Hardwick.

Whoa! I've never heard of movies coming out on DVD. Thanks Jonathan! You should get a career at Fox News. I like Fox because they only do fake news which is easier on my brain and doesn't leave me feeling as confused and depressed as an ACTUAL news organisation. Keep up the great journalism!

Can't wait for it. Best animated film of 2012.

This is totally news that GameSpot needs to cover. A movie that was in theaters, is coming out on DVD. That NEVER happens, ever. Thanks GameSpot, I might not have figured this one out!

I completely missed this at the cinema. Don't think it got advertised once in Scotland. I'll be checking it out when it is released.

Guess it will be out later over here since it's only been out for about 2 weeks.

@ragnar320 Movie was based around video games, so "technically" this counts as game news.

Also the movie was great so everyone needs to know this.

@blueboxdoctor I remember Hardwick from Singled Out, he's pretty cool. Since then I've seen him around...I love commentaries so this works out great.

@Luizao2779 Ah, that's explains it.  Hope the trend continues.  I love going to see smart kids movies instead of the toilet humour crap that's normally dished out to kids.

@Gelugon_baat I was merely complimenting him on being such an amazing journalist. Without his journalistic investigations, I never would have found out that movies are released on DVD after the cinemas...

I mean who knew?

@Gelugon_baat  @Hyperskate65 I'm here for the comments like this. GAMESpot should be about GAMES. They have other sites dedicated to this kind of thing owned by the same company.

sun_spirit

@emperiox  @Gelugon_baat He was merely specifying the dates, fool. Of course people in the real world have know that DVD's are released...

Sarcasm is the lowest for of whit, and you're belching out a hell of a lot of it...

@kazzu  @Gelugon_baat  @Hyperskate65  Yeah, totally. Gamespot should only be about games.... and spots. Games and spots. WHERE IS ALL THE NEWS ABOUT SPOTS GRRR.

Your logic is flawed, by the way.
