WoW: Warlords of Draenor Launching In November -- Will You Return to Azeroth?

Blizzard announces release date for the MMO's fifth expansion.

Warlords of Draenor, the fifth expansion for genre-defining MMO World of Warcraft, will launch on November 13. Developer Blizzard Entertainment announced the news today during a special event in Los Angeles. The developer also released the expansion's epic opening cinematic.

The expansion follows The Burning Crusade (2007), Wrath of the Lich King (2008), Cataclysm (2010), and Mists of Pandaria (2012). Warlords of Draenor introduces new zones and raises the level cap to 100. It also comes with an instant character boost to level 90, which you can unlock right now by pre-purchasing the expansion.

You can buy the standard version of Warlords of Draenor for $50, while a special digital deluxe iteration is available for $70. This premium bundle includes the expansion and in-game content like a Dread Raven mount and Dread Hatchling pet, among other items.

World of Warcraft is still the mother of all MMO's. Nothing can beat the mechanics and lore WoW uses. Wildstar and elder-scrolls online tried but failed like many more. I find that alot of MMO's like for example GW2 are just to simple when compared. There really has to be a game changing revolution to make WoW give up it's throne.

Yes, it's the only MMO worth a damn. Old, but still effective. Mists sucked though.

I've been so out of WoW for 3 years  that there's no reason for me to come back anymore, since none of my friends play it.

I love the lore, I wish they made games of the same universe without having to play it as an MMO :/

If that was a movie trailer, I'd be a lot more excited...Stopped playing WoW during Burning Crusade, and haven't regretted it at all.

I'll stick with the Burning Crusade private server that I'm currently playing on. Sweet cinematic though.

Ok stop with the cinematic's and start making some CGI movies for me to watch :)

I know there's  a live action movie  being made but i am a big fan of animation and would love to see some.

$50 + subs? No thank you!

Wish WoW's real graphics were half that good.

Granted their 'toony' art style is nice but the game still looks 10 years old.

I've never been to Azeroth, but I hear it's nice this time of year.

I will possibly, wish they would at least lower the monthly cost.

Not me. I quit around Cata, went back for Mists, and felt burned. Not gonna spend MORE on that game. Maybe when it eventually goes free to play, but till then, I've got plenty of other games to go on.

I've never been able to fully experience WoW, due to my inconsistent revenue... In November I will finally have a job though, thus being able to finally pay for WoW. I played it off and on for at most 3 months at a time. I support myself via freelance work... lol.

Will not be back, ever.. Give us the new MMO instead of milking WoW to death.

Looks like the tweaked the look of the Orcs a little bit.. I wonder if that has anything to do with the upcoming movie.

I will come back of course, play if for 4-6 months and then await the next expansion.

BigBadBanther

I will not be going back. In the end the subscription every month made me feel like i had to play to get my moneys worth. I did spend a good few years playing though :)

No I won't. Unless they remove requirement to buy Pandaria to play this, no thanks blizz. That expansion was an april fools joke, will never pay for that.

grenadehh

No I will not. Skipped Pandaria entirely except for a trial and have no qualms about skipping this "Sorry we'll do Draenor correctly this time" expansion.

Been away for almost 5 years now myself.   Not sure anything would bring me back at this point.   However, they continue their streak of awesome cinematics for their expansions.   One of my favourites in terms of WoW's cinematics.   Nicely done.

Less likely if i return to wow :))

They should just make a full length cinematic movie in that style. I'm sure it would make a ton of money, especially overseas.

@oflow  Virtually all of Wrath and the lower leveling zones of Cata covers everything Forsaken related.

@hystavito Its a very nice place, but if you are planning on going there I'd recommend you go after expansion season. Oh and don't forget your money because you'll be paying a shitload there.

I say drop it to 10/month and bring to xbox one

@Khasym Yeah I quit on the Firelands in Cata and then came back for a while in Mists mainly because I got a beta invite. Then leveled to cap in Mists and got bored barely even ran the dungeons.

The game has changed a lot and been kinda dumbed down with the way they changed the talents etc.  I know it was done to simplify things but Mists didnt really hold my attention.

Not hating on WoW I enjoyed the time I spent in the game.

I always took breaks off and on during my time in WoW after vanilla to experience other MMOs.  (Played Aion, Warhammer Online, TSW, MxO, GW1-2, Rift and probably a few others) I was a pretty hardcore raider in vanilla but my enthusiasm for raiding slowly waned away because it felt more like a chore where you are working to gear up raid leaders rather than having fun.

There are still over 6 million subscribers. I am sure they all agree with you. Just stop supporting WoW? Ya, that's a genius decision.

Spartan-1657
Spartan-1657

They are tweaking the look of almost all the races, not just Orcs. Thats one of the major changes with this expansion. They're doing it to make it more fresh and modern, not anything with the movie as far as I know.

grenadehh
grenadehh

@brightmight IKR. Let's make an expansion based on a race that existed in the most miniscule way possible, in one WC game, in multiplayer maps only.

BigAl519
BigAl519

@russell210 Why? So they can add 10 more subs a month? Shouldn't they port to a console that actually has a user base?

HeatM1ser
HeatM1ser

@Spartan-1657 6 million now...but go back 2 years and it was double that! They really are milking WoW to death. It's like a rock group that once was really awesome, but now all their members are over 70 years old and think that they still rock so they wont stop touring.

mr_nee
mr_nee

@Spartan-1657 I'm sure all those 6 mil. would switch to WOW2 or WOStarcraft in an instant.

Spartan-1657
Spartan-1657

@mr_nee Just like how all other MMO's will do the same, right?

@olegavi323

Well animated like it is above, or live action meaning real actors, no animation.

ChaosDecides
ChaosDecides

@fengor_og

Regardless of my feelings about the state of the game the realism of the characters, especially the facial characteristics, are amazing. A two hour film with that level of animation would be awesome. Given how big the fanbase is still I can't imagine a film with that format doing poorly in the box office. Especially given the lack of animated films directed at older audiences. Not sure what it would cost but given how much Blizzard pulls in from WOW they should be able to provide the financial backing.
