WoW 7.1.5 Patch Launches Next Week

The first micro-holiday arrives not long after.

The much-anticipated 7.1.5 update for World of Warcraft launches on Tuesday, January 10, Blizzard announced today.

While not as substantial as the 7.2 update still to come, 7.1.5 is a big one. It brings Mists of Pandaria content to the Timewalking feature, adding new rewards and content that should be worthwhile even to high-level characters. It also marks the return of the Brawler's Guild, the single-player challenge mode where you square off against various bosses, some of which should seem familiar to Overwatch players.

Also new in 7.1.5 are micro-holidays. These are shorter in-game events that Blizzard says are "just for fun." They'll typically run for only a few days and will be listed on your calendar, just the same as other, longer events. The first of these comes later this month and allows players to relive the first opening of the Ahn'Qiraj gate in 2006. At least seven more will follow between now and August, as outlined here.

Full patch notes for 7.1.5 have not yet been released, but we know they'll consist of significant class changes. The goal of these, as detailed in the overview video above, is to "improve overall class balance while also making each spec more fun to play and allowing for more diverse talent choices." Secondary stats have also been tweaked to present players with more potential item upgrades.

We don't yet know how long it will be until update 7.2 arrives, but we know it includes new Legendary Artifacts, epic class-specific flying mounts, a raid, and the ability to fly around Broken Shore. You can read more about all of that here.
