JoWood Productions has announced a new release date for its upcoming real-time strategy game World War III: Black Gold. The game was previously scheduled for release in September, but delayed due to the terrorist attacks of September 11. It is now expected to arrive in stores on October 26.

World War III: Black Gold lets players command one of three factions--the Americans, the Russians, or the Iraqis--in a war over control of the world's dwindling oil supplies. The game was developed by Reality Pump, the team behind Earth 2150 and The Moon Project, and it will be available in stores near the end of the month for an approximate retail price of $39.95.
