World of Warcraft reaches 1.5 million in China
Worldwide subscriber base now 3.5 million for Blizzard's MMORPG.
Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft just keeps getting bigger. The subscriber ranks of the hugely successful massively multiplayer online role-playing game have now swollen to 3.5 million worldwide. The company has more than the citizens of Azeroth to thank--the real peach is the 1.5 million subscribers in China alone. WOW reached that mark a mere month and change after the game launched in the country. It was barely over a month ago that the game, which debuted in North America in November, broke the 2 million subscriber mark.
