Codemasters has today released new information pertaining to World Championship Snooker 2003. The game will allow players to play snooker, eight-ball and nine-ball pool, and a number of minigames including trick shot, in my pocket, and against the clock.

The game will also feature no less than 28 professional players, including Ronnie O'Sullivan, Stephen Hendry, Mark Williams, John Higgins, Ken Doherty, and current world champion Peter Ebdon. Former world champion Dennis Taylor will also put in an appearance, helping players master the basics in the game's coaching mode.

As players progress through the 11 events that make up the game's career mode, they'll earn trophies and prize money that can be spent on bonus items such as classier cues, special tables, custom-designed baizes, trick shots, and new clothes.

No North American release for World Championship Snooker 2003 has been confirmed at this time, but the game is scheduled for release in Europe in the spring--just in time for the start of the real tournament. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
