Wonder Woman will be the first of 2017's DC superhero movies, and some new behind-the-scenes images have been released. In addition, the identity of the movie's villain has been revealed. Check out the pictures, via French movie magazine Studio Ciné Live.

The magazine also states that Wonder Woman's main bad guy will be Ares, the God of War. The article has been translated by film site Les Toiles Héroïques, and reads: "Behind these scientific formulas, there is a deadly gas that could well annihilate humanity. It turns out that it might interest Ares, the God of War. He is jealous of humanity, which is a creation of his father, the deceased Zeus."

Ares had been rumored to be the villain since the first trailer for Wonder Woman was released. The trailer revealed that Danny Huston is playing a Nazi officer, seemingly with superpowers and a desire to take over the world, leading some fans to speculate that he might be Ares.

In DC's Wonder Woman comic books, Ares has been a major adversary since the very first issue was published in 1942. Onscreen, he was previously played by Alfred Molina in the 2009 animated Wonder Woman film.

Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot as the Amazonian princess-turned-superhero, alongside Chris Pine, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen. It is directed by Patty Jenkins and hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
