WON Saddles Up the Clubs

WON and Sierra Sports announce the formation of the Sierra Sports Golf Association.

Comments

Online gaming network WON and Sierra Sports have announced the formation of the Sierra Sports Golf Association (SGA), which the duo is calling "a full-service sports league dedicated to online golf competition and community."

Modeled after the PGA, this league will feature weekly events, major tournaments, player rankings, and ladders, plus golfing information and news. Sierra Sports Golf Pro '98 is the "official" title of the league and will thus be used for all events and tournaments. And play will occur, naturally, on the WON network.

The PGA championships are scheduled for August at Sahalee Country Club in Redmond, Washington; the SGA is tying in with that event with a 45MB download of the Sahalee course, which SGA participants can download for free. The SGA Championships will be held in a chalet on the Sahalee course during the PGA event.

WON and Sierra began beta testing their online tourneys and events back in May.
