WizardWorks announces Robot Arena

WizardWorks has announced its upcoming game Robot Arena. The futuristic game, which is in development at Indianapolis-based Gabriel Interactive, lets players design and build custom robotic gladiators. Players can then send their mechanical creations into battle against other robots, which are either controlled by the computer or controlled by other players over a LAN or Internet connection.

The game features several types of robot chassis that can be customized with a wide variety of weapons, armor, and accessories. Robots can be equipped with weapons such as saws, battering rams, spikes, axes, harpoons, and hammers. Players must take several factors into account when designing their robots, such as cost, weight, and power supply.

In addition to battling enemy robots in different arenas, players will navigate through mazes and courses filled with traps and hazards. For players who want greater flexibility than the prebuilt parts allow, the game supports imported robot parts created with 3D Studio Max.

Robot Arena is scheduled for release in March for a suggested retail price of $19.99.
