Win an Xbox One or PS4 from GameSpot

We're giving away next-generation consoles this holiday, and one lucky winner will take home a grand prize featuring five games and a yearlong multiplayer subscription.

by

Looking for an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 this holiday? GameSpot is giving away systems through a special promotion on our Facebook page.

Entering is easy. Just like our Facebook page and fill out a quick form. The contest is open to entrants 13 or older in the United States. All entries must be in by November 22 at midnight.

If you get a friend to enter, you'll also have a chance to win a Grand Prize--a next-generation console of your choice AND five new games and a multiplayer subscription for the year.

Check out the contest page for official contest rules. The PS4 launches November 15, while the Xbox One arrives November 22.

Its not that big of a deal. If you are unhappy about their member newsletter, unsubscribe! That penguin hockey game is the thing that pisses me off about this site!!

Don't care if you guarantee me a free console and games, I still won't do Facebook.

Why do I have to like you to view the rules? Then once I'm in I find it's US only. Unlike.

Gamespot is a U.S.A based company. So no U.K ers, Mexico, Austrailia, Canada or Japan. Sigh.....

'Entering is easy.'

Except when you live outside the US or don't have Facebook.

Facebook account requirement = Check

Being a murican requirement = Check

Conclusion = Gamespot is a scumbag website

----

IGN's friday giveaways are much better as you only need to comment on their site with short answers to game related questions and there's no Murican requirement...

"...and a multiplayer subscription for the year."

Am I the only one whose sad that this is a thing? That we have to pay for any kind of multiplayer on these consoles? That's one thing I don't really have to worry about with my PC.

Stupid facespace. It is the place where people meet ( face to face) and talk to the computer.

Is there an option for something good, like a PC?

I think it's time for the these competitions to include residents of Europe and Australia as well. It's disappointing scrolling down to read the instructions every time only to see that I can't participate because I don't live in Murica...

@HowlPendragon

You know you would keep it and buy a PS4 (the cheaper new system)so you can play anything that comes out for the next 10 years and not ever be labeled a fanboy of either..

@crazyintheface While I don't agree with your assessment, I will say they are only giving one console away out of how many people?

@Megavideogamer So....they should think globally rather than just their country. USA is not the only place on earth...

@immortality20

Every non-US region gets screwed. Again.

In a similar vein to the way in which the leading console manufacturers tend to screw everyone outside North America (at least initially).

@arqe It's more to do with overseas shipping costs than anything else. However you would assume Gamespot would still have the money for that kind of thing.

@arqe Or it could be that this is a US based company.  And when is US a race?  You might find a greater mixture or races and nationalities here than any country in the world.

@freeden It's more than just multiplayer with PS+, though, since it includes all the free games, discounts, etc.

Xbox Live Gold is now offering something similar through Games With Gold.

not saying it's right for MS and Sony to be charging for online multiplayer, but these subscription services do offer more than that

@nparks @Megavideogamer 'cause that's where all the best English-speaking actors come from.  That's why American Television keeps pinching actors from the British Isles.

@Spartan_418 @freeden True, they do have to pay for servers and bandwidth. I think what Xbox charges for Gold is little unreasonable; yet I still pay for it. Can't complain.
