[UPDATE] Following the publication of this story, Call of Duty: Ghosts developer Infinity Ward announced the Captain Price Legend Pack, which features various Price-themed items in a $4 bundle. The bundle goes on sale next Tuesday, February 18. More details are available on Infinity Ward's website.

The original story is below.

Call of Duty's bearded hero Captain Price could be returning in Call of Duty: Ghosts, developer Infinity Ward has teased.

The developer tweeted a picture of the character standing in front of the massive Stonehaven map from Ghosts' multiplayer mode. The picture is captioned with "Brace yourselves, Price is coming."

Neither Activision nor Infinity Ward wants to divulge any more details right now. Could it be a simple character skin, a new gametype in a similar vein to Michael Myers mode that cropped up in Ghosts' Onslaught DLC, or a nod to the ongoing speculation that Modern Warfare 4 will be announced this year? Or maybe it's just Infinity Ward messing around.

Whatever it is, Activision has already confirmed that this year's new Call of Duty game is being developed by MW3 co-developer Sledgehammer Games.
