Wikipad price down from $250 to $200 — Do you want one?

New feature maps touch games to Wikipad’s controller.

Wikipad has announced that the new price for the Wikipad 7-inch Android-powered gaming tablet is $200, down from $250.

The Wikipad tablet launched in June of last year. It features an attachable dual-analog controller and a 7-inch IPS touchscreen. The device comes with 16GB of memory with a micro SD slot to support an additional 32GB of storage. The Wikipad table boasts an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and is "optimized for cloud gaming."

Wikipad also announced a new feature for the device, Wikipad Controller Assistant, which allows users to map touch games to the controller.

The Wikipad supports games downloadable through PlayStation Mobile, Nvidia's Tegra Zone, and Google Play. It comes with a few free games pre-installed like Dead Trigger 2 and Shadowgun: Dead Zone.

Best Buy is the first retailer to offer the Wikipad at the its new, reduced price, with other United States retailers to follow soon.

Are you more likely to get one now?

Nah, I'll wait until these devices are cheaper.

Android gaming can be a lot of fun. Just not $200 fun.

No I will not be getting one. I am sure playing Dead Trigger with these controls is actually really well but there simply isn't enough games like that for me to spend $200.

Makes me think what a portable Jaguar 64 would look like =)

Playing Deadzone though a gamepad is much better than mobile controls.

Am I more likely to get it? Sure! The knowledge that something exists increases the likelyhood of purchase infinitely.

I got an Ipad and Iphone and the funny thing is, they're great, but I actually still do most of my gaming on Pcs and consoles. All these devices remind me of that moment in Anchorman 2 where the guys says:

THERE'S TOO MUCH NEWS.

Ron: Yes, the market is saturated.

does it come with the controller attachment? Not that it matters. You could get a refurbished Wii U for that price.

Are all of these people who never heard of the Wikipad new to Gamespot? I'm certain there have been a few articles about it in the past, even though I haven't heard anything about this tablet in a while.

who cares about a name, Tegra 3 is totally fine, try finding Tegra 4 not easy! You can side load - Nexus 7 can't do that, FACT. Blimy guys  FIFA 14 is fine on a tablet with controllers..not with touch. what are we waiting for.

Ill buy one and send in a review.

The name is awful i mean wikipad makes it sound like some sort of Wikipedia e reader or something.

Brilliant marketing - considering this is the first I've heard of this device.

They may need to advertise the Wikipad more. The price drop may help. $200.00 is great price. I had forgotten about the Wikipad. PSvita and 3DS are the main competition for the Wikipad. They have gotten the "bolt on" controller right. I guess that this is not selling well.

Wikipad might be doomed from lack of advertising. The price is right is right, the name my be a bit passe. Wikipad name does not sound like a gaming device.

I use Wikipedia quite often, so you could call me a Wikilad, but I'll never buy a Wikipad.

This, boys and girls, is how Gamespot gets paid. This is an advertisement, complete with link to Best Buy so you can buy one immediately. You didn't think they only got paid for game reviews, did ya?

Nvidia is on Tegra 4 now, coming out with a even more powerful chip. Why buy this when I can buy a tegra 4 tablet + a moga pro controller?

@thrombosis45 Nothing wrong with that.  Actually it's kinda funny how you say that in the midst of announcing a $50 price hike for the PS4 in Canada.  That was an advertisement too right?

@jinzo9988 That's just proper reporting. You need to cite sources and offer relevant navigation to your readers. They also don't get money for reviews. It is strictly ads that they get money from, which is why they stopped with the paid membership that didn't have any. Good grief sometimes I think half of the GS readers are the "Aliens" dude.
