Wii Sports Club, the upcoming high-definition update of the original Wii Sports, could see a retail release some day, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has said.

"I do not deny the possibility that Wii Sports Club may become packaged software in the future," Iwata said during a recent investor Q&A.

Iwata made clear, however, that Nintendo's focus right now is releasing tennis and bowling for Wii U through the eShop beginning tomorrow, November 7. Boxing, baseball, and golf will be released "in the months ahead."

Those who download Wii Sports Club will be given a trial pass that allows them to play any available game for a 24-hour period. After this period ends, players can either purchase a Day Pass for $2 to play all available sports for a 24-hour period, or buy permanent access to individual sports for $10 each.

Nintendo also today released a new trailer for Wii Sports Club (below), featuring famous former professional tennis players Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf.
