Bowling! Pastime of the Gods!

Wii Sports Bowling just got a little competition. Crave Entertainment today announced Brunswick Pro Bowling for the Wii, and also for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. As its name indicates, the game will feature Brunswick-branded gear and bowling alleys.

In the career mode, players can work their way up from amateur to professional hotshot, Roy Munson style, and the multiplayer mode lets up to four players compete against each other. No specific details about the versions for each platform were given, other than that the PSP will include wireless multiplayer and additional character customization.

Crave has not yet announced a release date or pricing information.

What's with that pic of the gods? Please don't tell me that's the actual game.

Bowling has been neglected (by gaming companies) for far too long. Hopefully the Wii can bring it into the light as a legitimate sport and this game will give it the depth it deserves. Never heard of Crave though.. EA should do it.

About time a licensed bowling game comes out that might not be that bad. Maybe they might get some good bowlers in there and break the bowling game curse

Now Wii seriously need a "Big Lebowski" game. Bowling tournaments, multiplayer/online mode, plus free roaming in town fighting the German dudes and Porn mobsters (all that with smoked-up or drunk effects) ... please please please... my Mii and I are begging for it !!

I wish game makers would realize that the Wii has great wireless capabilities too.

Wow... another game in which you have to swing a controller. Wii Play have already killed the 'new innovative' controller-scheme. Bring us something new please!

What the wii really needs is an EA Professional Blowling game. like a tiger woods but for bowling. that would be the best bowling game probobly ever made, assuming they did it right.

I second the motion for . Not that I'm bothered by sports games for the Wii, but I really like those rail shooters. I suspect that those games will make it to the Wii as more developers (1) start thinking outside the cutesy Nintendo box and (2) realize that those sales numbers are real money waiting to be made. What's most interesting to me is how many games are being made for the Wii and the PS2 / PSP. The games for the XBOX 360 and the PS3 seem to be in their own league, while the Wii is being lumped with a previous-gen console and a handheld. Interesting...

Alright! A full bowling game! Bowling on Wii sports is sweet but lacks options.

Hopefully it's made for the Wii and not made for the SP2 and ported to the Wii... If they made it for the Wii with full all out good Wii controls, it will rock, then port it to the PS2 with the push of a button... otherwise it will fail miserably.

"just wandering if making games for the wii is going to continue.i just read where no 3rd party support is out there and 1st party(meaning nintendo) isnt getting the new games they promised on release" I suppose you should start looking for new information sources, since this the biggest amount of bs that I heard since the Wii came out. BTW, have you even been following what's happening to the PS3? Seriously, new sources...

Big Lebowski FTW, but I'm all set on another bowling game.

Why even waste time on a PS2 and PSP version? PSP has horrible game sales and the only games that sell on the PS2 are FF and Guitar Hero. Check 2006 sales if you don't believe me.

"Ok enough sports games on the Wii. Just a sugestion but why don't we focus on making som decent shooters or RPGS. Red Steel doesn't cut it." Spot on, the wii is the most fitting console for FPS and lightgun style games. Time crisis and house of the dead would be perfect for the wii.

Has Crave released anything good?

Why is everyone hating on this? I think this is great. I was just thinking a couple of days ago how I bet someone would come out with an actualy bowling game...branded with Brunswick or something. Hopefully they will have tournaments and great multiplayer... AND... maybe the release will be after Nintendo starts their online gaming...Anyone else think that online multiplayer bowling would be awesome? Online tourneys, leaderboards, etc. Sounds good to me... Im not a big bowling fan, and I agree the Wii needs more RPGs, action/adventure games and FPS. AND sports games. But if pulled off right, this could be a pretty good game.

".. so now sony has my full attention--hopefully sony doesnt let me down like the 360 and the wii has.. " Are you serious? lol... 360 and Wii being letdowns? PS3 having your full attention? At this rate, you will be institutionalized shortly...

YOUR MOTHER! ...Is the one who will be wanting to play this. That is, if she's anything like my mom, who is totally addicted to WiiSports Bowling. Keep luring in the nongamers, Wii developers. They'll be eating out of your hand by next Christmas...

It is a group of us using our Mii's that makes Wii Sports Bowling for me. If this game can utilise the Mii's somehow then i'd happily buy it.

will only buy if they throw in an extra wiimote shape like a bowling ball, Maybe the can call it the bowl mote or something. Then I can sue Crave for accidently breaking my televison with the bowlimote.

Granted Wii Sports bowling might have just gotten some new comp, but there's always that free vs paying aspect of it that will come into play.

With the release of the Wii, sports games just got the new fresh gameplay they have been looking for for yrs the wiimote opens the door to for mostly failed sports genre like bowling to get another chance and im my opinion this system was made for it i foresee wii having the best sports titles ever

If they can make a game with the controls of Wii Sports Bowling and then flesh it out in every other way, such as season mode and online mode this game could be one of the most surprising and best sports games of the year. -WPack911

Risky, but it appeals to the casual gaming crowd, so they might pull it off.
