It's the weekend again! Here's a recap of all the big stories and some you may have missed.

THE BIG STUFF:

The Nintendo Switch does not officially launch for a few more weeks, but some people already have their hands on the system, it seems. Units have appeared in the wild, and people are uploading unboxing videos that provide the first look at retail systems. [Full story]

The NPD Group this week announced the Top 10 best-selling games of January 2017 in the United States. Capcom's Resident Evil 7 came out on top. Rounding out the top five were Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Grand Theft Auto V, Battlefield 1, and NBA 2K17. In terms of hardware, Sony's PS4 won the month, outselling all other home consoles. E3 2017 is still a few months away, but now we know more about it. This week, Microsoft announced that it's moving its show to the Sunday before E3, while Bethesda confirmed that it will have a briefing and it will take place on Sunday as well. CD Projekt Red, the developer behind The Witcher series, continues to grow. The Polish developer is now worth more than $1.6 billion, apparently. Get the full story here.

Bungie is working with MacFarlane toys for a new toy line based on Destiny. Check out some of the figures here; they go on sale later this year alongside Destiny 2.

MLB The Show 17 is adding to and expanding the Diamond Destiny mode for this year's game; watch a video and read this blog post to get all the details.
