We Try the ASCII Pad FT

We take the new ASCII Pad FT for the Dreamcast for a spin and find that it'll definitely suit 2D-fighting-game fans.

Comments

We received one of ASCII's new ASCII Pad FTs in the videogames.com offices today. We immediately put it to the test with the Japanese version of Street Fighter III: W Impact.

Though the D-pad on this bad boy may look a little flimsy, it's a top-notch piece of equipment, making dragon punches very easy to do and, of course, giving you great access to all six buttons. The built-in vibration (which can be disabled via a toggle switch) feels nice, and it still has room for a VMU.

All in all, it's a quality item that no 2D-fighting-game fan should be without. We'll surely be ordering a few more of these from our local import shop, and hopefully Agetec will bring the FT to the States sometime next year - hopefully before the large rush of Capcom fighters release in the first quarter.
