Tired of ads on YouTube? The Google-owned video giant on Wednesday announced a new subscription offering where you can pay $10/month to avoid commercials altogether. It's called YouTube Red, and other benefits include the ability to watch videos offline or in the background as other apps run on your device.

Also included with YouTube Red is a Google Play Music subscription. The Spotify-like subscription pass, which lets you stream as much music as you want to, normally goes for $10/month. In addition, YouTube has announced a brand new YouTube Music app that also comes with your YouTube Red subscription.

"YouTube Music is designed to make discovering, watching and listening to music easier than ever," the company said in a statement. "Any song or artist you choose on YouTube Music will start you on a personal journey through one of the richest music catalogs; just sign in, tap a track you love, and see where your music takes you. And as a special bonus--YouTube Red works with Google Play Music, so subscribe to one and automatically get access to the other."

A YouTube Red subscription, of course, doesn't give you access to the site's library of on-demand content such as movies or other paid-for videos. Additionally, you might still see some advertisements during videos if content creators put them there.

The service opens on October 28 and you can try it out with a one-month free subscription. YouTube is also creating its own original programming exclusive to YouTube Red, including new shows from PewDiePie and College Humor, among others. These will debut sometime in 2016.
