Watch Trailer for Guillermo Del Toro's Monstrous New Show Trollhunters

The trailer for the upcoming Netflix animated fantasy series Trollhunters is here. The show is produced by Guillermo Del Toro and hits the streaming service on December 23. Watch the trailer below, and check out the poster at the end of this story.

A synopsis for the show has also been released. It reads: "When ordinary teenager Jim Lake Jr. stumbles upon a mystical amulet on his way to school one morning, he inadvertently discovers an extraordinary secret civilization of mighty trolls beneath his small town of Arcadia. Suddenly destined to play a crucial role in an ancient battle of good and evil, Jim is determined to save the world--right after gym class."

Trollhunters' voice cast includes Kelsey Grammer (Frasier, Transformers: Age of Extinction), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), and the late Anton Yelchin (Star Trek Beyond). It is is based on a novel that was co-written by Del Toro and published in 2008.

The show is a result of a deal between Netflix and DreamWorks Animation, which also produced the recent Voltron reboot, Voltron: Legendary Defender. A second season of that is due in January.
