Watch The Next Mass Effect, Halo: Master Chief Collection Comic-Con Panels Now

BioWare and Microsoft publish video of their Comic-Con panels.

If you couldn't make it to Comic-Con last weekend (tickets were hard to come by, after all), you're now in luck, as BioWare and Microsoft have posted videos of their panels from the show. BioWare's 30-minute presentation is all about the next Mass Effect, while Microsoft's hour-long briefing goes into depth about Halo: The Master Chief Collection and more.

The next Mass Effect is currently untitled and official details about the project remain hard to come by. We do know that the Mako vehicle is coming back and that the game won't feature Commander Shepard. Check out the video for even more nuggets of info about the game.

As for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, it's an impressive bundle that includes remastered versions of Halo 1-4. The collection launches November 11 for Xbox One and includes access to Halo: Nightfall, the live-action show from director Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator). Microsoft also held a special Halo: Nightfall panel at Comic-Con, and you can watch that here.

What a bunch of condescending tools, why bother having a panel if you can`t answer any questions and going to be smug about it. And yeah, the ending sucked so just admit it already. Now piss off until you have something worth showing, .id.iots.

I swear to God, they go at a Comic-Con panel to ask the most stupid questions. The blokes at Bioware say they don't discuss about story, probably because it's not even fully written yet, and they keep asking about their fetishes. "Can I be like a turian and dress up like a furry pony and make out with Aria, please?" What the hell people? Ask about mechanics, new implementations, about customizations, what can you customize, if the game will return to its rpg roots rather than a bland third person shooter, ask about how large and how open the world is. Out of all the question, about 3 were actually relevant.

So basically they are keeping the Mako for all the reasons I hated and getting rid of the cannon which is the only thing I found appealing about the original Mako.  Hope they have something else in mind with this game besides combining the two game mechanics that everyone hated in all three games.   Now instead of driving around on boring barren planets or scanning for resources you do both!

Some truly stupid and pointless questions:

"Can we customise casual wear?" - This question was basically answered when they spoke about customisation being a big part in the game. In any event, who really cares?

"Will loading times be eliminated?" - Yes, because current-gen is absolutely perfect which do not currently require loading and will never need to utilize loading times ever again, no matter how advanced games are. These guys can also foresee the future and be able to tell if a game that has barely been touched will need load times

"Can we go to the Volus home planet and see them without suits?" - Such a specific question, the devs, and previous articles have been so incredibly vague, what would be the point in asking such a specific question about a potentially thrilling moment in the game?

Do people think when they speak??

The first question, and the Mako question were solid.

Props to GS for putting 2 of the best game franchises ever created in the 1 article!

I wonder if ME4 will be a standalone game, or the start of a new trilogy.

Has a Bioware panel ever had a shred of interesting information?

Nice, thank you!

Glad they're focusing more on exploration and customization this time, that is what I basically asked for in their survey :)

@LatinproX Figured if any real news came out of it, it would have been a bigger headline on the homepage, thanks for saving me half an hour.

@SpLiTMaN Those were the lamest load screens ever, man.  I MUCH preferred ME2's style of moving blueprints of the Normandy, Omega, Citadel, Tuchanka etc. etc.

@xsonicchaos  I posted a reply similar to this....so many stupid questions, it's unreal. Dishonourable mentions go to the guy who asked about Aria, and the guy who asked about the Volus.

Just utterly stupid.

asking about the story isn't a bad thing is it? i mean after the convoluted ending in mass effect 3, any fan of the series will be really concerned .

Seriously what kind of people wanted to go to Volus planet only to see em naked lol

Naked volus ¿?really? Haha..

unreal849

@dani_i89  If they asked anything relevant, they wouldn't get an answer anyways. Panel attendees know how to softball their questions to at least get some meager information.

daviz88

that depends on how much money they make from this one

@vlainstrike it most likely will be another trilogy. wonder why everything must come in threes... halo 1, 2, 3, then halo 4, 5, 6... dead space, star wars, lord of the rings, everything, everywhere, is made a trilogy. is there a reason?

unreal849
unreal849

@vlainstrike ...because EA love making a single mass-selling game, and then leaving the franchise alone forever.

daviz88
daviz88

they said its in the works but we are yet to here about any new development. BIOWARE/EA have been very cagey about anything concerning mass effect

@sladakrobot There's a nice trilogy collection for both PS3/360. IMO is good enough for last gen

@daviz88

It is a bad thing when you can only ask one question and you waste that question on something you know you won't get an answer to. You can spin it any way you want, no matter what concerns they might have had about the story, it's very clear that they wouldn't have answered questions about the story.

fgjnfgh

@raptor1998 @fgjnfgh no I mean I dont want to go to work, eat, go out, or do any other thing beside playing ME4 once it comes out

@xsonicchaos @Darth_Ultima JEEZ - i DON'T FRICKIN care IF IT'S "CUSTOMIZABLE".  wHO THE HELL cares ABOUT STUFF BEING CUSTOMIZABLE??  gIVE ME A GREAT, GORGEOUS GAME WITH A FANTASTIC STORY.

dani_i89
dani_i89

@unreal849 @dani_i89  No but they can ask questions which might allow the panel to give away other vague details about the game which have not yet been discussed. Asking what first comes to mind isn't the smart way to go about it.

daviz88
daviz88

i guess we have wait to E3 2015 to hear anything relevant

vlainstrike
vlainstrike

@unreal849 Who said anything about leaving the franchise alone forever? What a senseless and unhelpful comment.

daviz88
daviz88

i'm not spinning anything. Facts is BIOWARE has been really tight lipped about the game and quite frankly they should expected questions about the story. i'm not saying they should spill the beans but at least give any idea on which direction their going.

xsonicchaos
xsonicchaos

@VakarianGirl

Apparently I care. And most of the more technical stuff, like customization and gameplay mechanics are done by completely different people than the guys responsible with the story part of the game, so there wouldn't be any conflict there. On the other hand, of course the story is the most essential part, but I would also like to play a great role playing game instead of a simple shooter.

Monsterkillah

Now i have some weird fantasy with Volus..so sexy... ;)

He was giving you a hard time...

EA is in the habit of make trilogies and games with sequels, prequels, etc.

It would be very surprising if the new Mass Effect didn't have a sequel or two, or five.

xsonicchaos
xsonicchaos

@daviz88

Dude, this is exactly what I was saying about spinning it, so I pretty much predicted your next reply. Shoulda, woulda, doesn't matter. You know they would have never said anything about the story, I know they would have never said anything about the story, and these are hardcore frikin fans of ME, they should have expected this from Bioware. I know the questions about the story do make sense, but when you know they aren't saying anything, why waste that question? And when they say it once, they're saying it to everyone. Plus, when they're starting with the disappointing "we're years away from finishing the game," it's pretty much clear that it's too early for story question. Again, not saying the questions were about the story were stupid, there were other question to own that title.
