A new trailer for Danny Boyle's upcoming biopic Steve Jobs has ben released. Starring Michael Fassbender as the legendary tech pioneer, the film charts Jobs' relationship with his company, his inventions, and his family, structured around three of Apple's key product launches.

Check out the trailer below:

The film is written by West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin, who also wrote David Fincher's Oscar-winning Facebook drama The Social Network. Fincher was originally hired to direct Steve Jobs, but his exit last year from the project due to a contract dispute meant that Boyle was instead recruited. Earlier this month, the Guardian reported that Boyle was very happy to admit Fincher's influence upon his movie.

"I've been told not to say this, but for me it's clearly the second part of The Social Network'," he said. "These films have to be made. Benign as they may seem, they have created forces that are more powerful than governments and banks."

Earlier this week, Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke about the various recent cinematic retellings of the Apple story, explaining that he considered attempts to dramatise Jobs's life as "opportunistic."

Steve Jobs arrives in cinemas on October 9, 2015, and also stars Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels.
