Watch Stephen Colbert Predict Star Wars: Force Awakens' Plot

Does Colbert have it right?

The plot for JJ Abrams' upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a closely guarded secret. But comedian Stephen Colbert has a prediction for how the story will play out for the first new Star Wars movie in over a decade. During an episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week, he shared that with the world--and what he offers definitely sounds at least plausible. Watch it below.

"JJ Abrams and I are good friends. But he has told me nothing, including what JJ stands for or what his phone number is," Colbert jokes before diving into his analysis.

We won't spoil his complete Force Awakens prediction for you. But it involves the First Order, the rebel alliance shifting to the Dark side, how the Force actually exists outside of temporal authority structures, and more.

Colbert is something of a Star Wars superfan. He calls himself the "original" Star Wars fan, in part because in 1977, when he was in eighth grade, he won a radio contest and got to see the first film before its public release.

What do you think of Colbert's Force Awakens prediction? Let us know in the comments below.

Disclosure: The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs on CBS, which is GameSpot's parent company.
