For more than two decades, The Simpsons' Sideshow Bob has dreamt of one thing--killing his arch-nemesis Bart Simpson. Now Krusty the Clown's former sidekick will get his chance, again and again, in the upcoming Treehouse of Horror segment entitled "Wanted: Dead, Then Alive." Watch a taste on EW here.

Treehouse of Horror is The Simpsons' annual Halloween anthology episode, and this year's will be the 26th since the show began. These specials are known for taking a more gruesome approach, and have no bearing on the events of the main show. Al Jean, The Simpsons' executive producer, spoke to EW about the latest episode.

"You never saw the Road Runner lose. This time you do," he said. "[Sideshow Bob's] whole life has just been about killing Bart, so what's next? We deal with how Bob would really feel once he accomplished this goal he's had his whole life."

Last month, there were rumours that The Simpsons might end after three more seasons. "If you made me pick one, I'd say the likeliest is ending after 30, but I've been wrong before. I thought five seasons was good when I got there," Jean told the Hollywood Reporter at the time.

The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror XXVI airs on Sunday October 25 at 8 PM on Fox.
