Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium has posted a new behind-the-scenes video that focuses on the character X-Files actress Gillian Anderson plays in the upcoming PC space adventure game's Squadron 42 mode. Take a look the video below.

Anderson plays Captain Rachel McClaren, the daughter of Gary Oldman's Admiral Bishop. In the video, she talks about the motion capture process and how it felt somewhat alien to her.

"I don't think I was quite prepared for how exposed you are walking around," she said, referencing the motion-capture suit. "I look like Sandy the squirrel from SpongeBob."

Not that you would expect otherwise in an official video, Anderson sounds genuinely interested in playing the part. She caps off her comments by saying that wearing the motion-capture suit wasn't embarrassing enough to scare her away from ever working on a similar project again.

Anderson is not the only high-profile actor featured in Squadron 42. She's joined by Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises), and Mark Strong (Kingsman), among others.

Cloud Imperium has showed off the in-game models for Oldman and Hamill's characters, but we're still waiting to see the character models for Anderson and the other actors.

This new video was released just days before the premiere of the X-Files revival on Fox this coming Sunday, January 24.

In other recent Star Citizen news, the game's alpha 2.1 update is available now, along with new ships and weapons. Funding for Star Citizen passed $100 million in 2015.
