A Mass Effect: Andromeda developer diary featuring Aaryn Flynn, general manager at BioWare, has also been released. In this video Flynn discusses how the studio is using the Frostbite engine to leverage the power of the PS4 Pro. You can watch that here.

During the dev diary, Flynn states BioWare will premier a brand new Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer on November 7 and "officially open the doors to the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe." This date is N7 Day, which BioWare uses to celebrate its sci-fi franchise.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is separate from the original trilogy and follows a new protagonist's journey to find a new home for humanity. The setting has been shifted from the Milky Way to the Andromeda Galaxy from, where it is hoped mankind can colonize new planets.

According to BioWare, Andromeda will have new civilizations, creatures, and enemies. One of its key themes is the idea of humanity being the aliens, which is why the studio opted for a new setting.

Mass Effect: Andromeda was originally scheduled to come out in 2016, but in May, BioWare announced that it is now coming in "early 2017." The game was delayed "to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be," BioWare said at the time.
