Actor and comedian Joel McHale is really excited for Halo 5: Guardians, so much so that he recently jokingly said he plans to abandon his children when the game comes out. On Wednesday's episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers, the host asked McHale if he was amped for Halo 5. He responded in the affirmative. "I don't love my kids anymore," McHale says. Watch the full video below.

McHale says he thought his life was complete with 2012's Halo 4, but admitted Halo 5 is sucking him back in with its galaxy-changing story that pits Master Chief against Spartan Locke.

Gamers may know McHale as the host of the 2013 VGX awards show. He also appears in promotional campaigns for Warner's recently released toys-to-life game Lego Dimensions.

Halo 5 launches on October 27 exclusively for Xbox One. The game recently achieved "gold" status, meaning development on the base game is finished, though 343 continues to work on post-release content, including December's Forge mode and lots of free DLC maps. In addition, Microsoft will promote the game through specially painted Master Chief and Spartan Locke cars at a NASCAR event.
