Electronic Arts on Tuesday released the first gameplay trailer for Need for Speed: No Limits, a brand new racing game coming to iOS and Android devices later this year, and it does not disappoint.

The gameplay sequences, which include police chases, drifting, and all manner of colorful environments, certainly look incredible. It's astonishing to see how far graphics have come for mobile games in recent years.

When EA announced No Limits back in November 2014, the publisher said the game was built "from the ground up" to deliver "insanely fast driving" and "incredible graphics." In all, the game aims to "redefine" street racing for mobile devices.

"We're constantly amazed by the power and performance we're able to get out of the latest phones and tablets and think you will be too," EA said at the time.

Australia-based studio Firemonkeys, which also developed the visually stunning mobile game Real Racing 3, is behind No Limits. Real Racing 3 is a free-to-play game, but EA has yet to announce any details regarding the business model for No Limits.

If you're not interested in mobile games, EA's Ghost Games is already "deep in development" on the next core Need for Speed game for consoles. This game, which should launch in 2015, is described as "highly innovative," though no other details about it are available.
