The next Nintendo Direct briefing begins in just a few more hours. As announced previously, the presentation is focused on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.

Game director Masahiro Sakurai will appear on the livestream to talk about the game's next DLC character, Final Fantasy VII's Cloud, and maybe make some new announcements. Nintendo is calling the briefing the "final" Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct dedicated to the Wii U/3DS game.

The Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct starts at 2 PM PST / 5 PM EST. You'll be able to watch the entire event right here on GameSpot. We'll add a Twitch livestream embed as the start of the show gets closer.

With more than 4 million copies sold, Super Smash Bros. is one of Nintendo's best-selling Wii U games. It has shifted more than 7.3 million copies on 3DS, bringing the game's total to more than 11.3 million.

Sakurai was recently quoted saying the DLC campaign for Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS is coming to an end soon. One of the reveals today could be the announcement of a release date for Cloud.
