Spec Ops: The Line developer Yager has released a video showing off Dreadnought, its new, free-to-play multiplayer game where each player controls a hulking capital spaceship.
In the video, Game Director Peter Holzapfel and Game Designer Eino Joas give us a play-by-play of a team deathmatch round. At first, we get to see them command a new ship called the Archon Dreadnought. They say it's one of the lighter Dreadnoughts in the game, meaning it's faster, but can't take too much damage. We later get to see them pilot the Technical Cruiser, which can repair allies, and the Thanatos, which is the heaviest Dreadnought in the game.
Overall, The game contains five classes, with multiple ships in every class, each with a fully customizable set of weapons and abilities. You'll be able to dedicate power to specific sub-systems, customize weapons, engines, armor, abilities, crew, and the ships’ aesthetics. The game will feature 5v5 multiplayer as well as a single player campaign.
Dreadnought is scheduled for release on PC in 2015. For more on the game, read our interview with Yager from E3 2014.
