Watch Dogs PC free with select Nvidia cards

Get free copy of Ubisoft's open-world game with the purchase of any qualifying GeForce GTX graphics card.

Nvidia announced today that you can get a free copy of Ubisoft's much-anticipated open-world game Watch Dogs for PC with the purchase of a qualifying GeForce GTX graphics card.

The offer is available for GeForce GTX 660, 660 Ti, 670, 680, 690, 760, 770, 780, 780 Ti, or Titan Black graphics cards only. The promotion began today and will be available "for a limited time" through retailers like Amazon and NewEgg, among others. Full details about the Watch Dogs Nvidia promotion, including a list of all qualifying GeForce GTX graphics cards, are available at Nvidia's website.

The free Watch Dogs codes are redeemable through Ubisoft's own Uplay digital store. If you have a code, you can redeem it now, but of course you can't start playing until May 27. For more on Watch Dogs, which is also coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Wii U, check out GameSpot's recent hands-on preview of the action game.

Well I still got AC4, Splinter Cell and Arkham Origins free. Oh well :)

Maybe I should have waited.  Splinter Cell was great an all but I'd have preferred Watch Dogs with my 780s.  Oh well.  Hope I can max er out.

Is it just specific manufacturers?

EVGA or no deal for me.

So is this deal only for the US or is it worldwide, cause I really want to buy a new GPU sometime soon and I might as well get a free game with it.

Bah, I don't like nVidia.  They make good cards, but they're all proprietary an' sh*t with their technology instead of working to advance the state of technology as a whole.  nVidia's compute / GPGPU platform, CUDA, can only be utilized by nVidia GPUs, as opposed to the OpenCL standard which AMD/ATI supports with their GPUs.  Even if nVidia had faster hardware in general, which they don't, I support AMD and their mission to advance the state of the art by CPU-GPU unification for all -- not just those who buy their products.

Dammit I just fucking bought my 660 Ti a few weeks ago!

Dang, I just bought a GTX 770 about a month ago. Oh well. Watch Dogs looks great and I'm going to preorder it.

Darnitt no gtx 750? I was thinking about getting that because it's the best card that doesn't require an extra power source. Also it's only like $150

<shrug> Both NVIDIA and AMD have been giving away free games with their cards for decades now.

Well that shows how lucky I am. The offer is validate for ones who buy these on or after April 29th.

I bought a GTX 780 only a month ago. :p

This sounds like a good deal and I might get an Nvidia card for my next PC in a few years. I've never gotten a game with a graphics card before, but I haven't really been searching for such an offer and last time I bought a separate graphics card was when my father bought the Radeon Pro X1950 for the family's computer (after consulting with me first, hehe).

I bet people are going to sell the watchdogs coupons on ebay for $20 or less.

I recently got a nvidia 750ti. No game for me except $150 in credits for Free to play games.

This actually helps people like me know which card to get if we're jumping into PC gaming again. I know I can find better options elsewhere, but it gives me a range of options to play with that I know will work.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, my card is already in the list :'( Whyyyyyyyy?!

Eh, but whatever. I don't use amazon and it's not a Digital Deluxe Edition, so screw it

I emailed Nvidia with a picture of my GTX 580 and asked for a free code. 40 minutes later they sent me (a cell phone) picture of a code pamphlet. You won't get that with Microsoft or Sony. PC gaming is so expensive.

as someone who just bought a gtx 770 a week ago and got that badly rated "daylight" game...i'm not very happy :(

Question is 760 or 770...

Or 780 if someone wants my kidney?

@SPBoss  Depending on the resolution, it might. Maybe if you run with PhysX at medium settings and no AA at 1080p.

Fuckers, when I bought my 780 all they gave me was Batman and splinter cell, and until you mentioned it, I forgot I even had splinter cell.

@gawdzila AMD cards are also great substitutes for fireplaces, and nuclear reactor cores.

@Zloth2  The original reason I got on Steam was because of keys they gave out with some video cards way back.

@stride21  Happens with all these promotions, but the question is... do you trust Ebay...?  Lol, I don't, too many scams and no real recourse if you get screwed over, unless you make a big enough fuss like the guy who bought a picture of an Xbox... but I believe that was PayPal who helped him, not Ebay.

@FallenOneX  look at the recommended system requirements of the games you want to play

@RC-Sev  You don't have to use Amazon for the offer. All you have to do is send a screenshot of the bill you have show it's legitimate.

Hope you won't feel worse after hearing this. :p

@thefinalzapkeet  I feel ya mate. I got my 780 a month ago and all I got was Daylight and Rise of Triad (I'm interested in neither)

@smackdowner360 The only reason I bought a GTX 770 as an upgrade from my GTX 480 was because I got 3 newer games along with the $330 card.  Basically like $120 in games.  I am very tempted to buy another 770 for SLI just because it comes with Watch_Dogs...its working I'd say!

smokin_ganja

@smackdowner360 Nvidia isn't the only GPU manufacturer to give free games with theirs cards. This is quite common actually.

@prime_l

GTX 760: 250$, 170W

GTX 770: 330$, 230W

GTX 780: 500$, 250W

It depends on your money and power supply, though, the best value is 760, then 770 and 780.

@vader501st @gawdzilaI honestly have no idea what you're talking about.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7503/the-amd-radeon-r9-270x-270-review-feat-asus-his/16

AMD's last-gen 7870 runs cooler than its competition, the GTX 660, as did the two new non-reference R9 270s by a wide margin, and their power consumption under load was different by only a few percent.

The 7950 ran cooler than its competition, the nVidia GTX 760 -- which is easily one of the hottest-running cards around -- while consuming an identical amount of power.

Even the AMD R9 280X, which is a faster card meant for higher resolutions, predictably consumes significantly more power than the 760 but still ran a whopping *18 degrees Celsius*cooler.

RC-Sev

@Bumblebee1138 @RC-Sev  Eh, I pre-ordered a Digital Deluxe, so this doesn't really do anything to me.
Plus, my GTX was bought several months ago, don't think that would work.
