Lords of the Fallen co-developer CI Games on Wednesday released an extended gameplay demonstration for its upcoming military shooter Sniper Ghost Warrior 3. It's the third game in the series but the first described as a "AAA production." And from this demonstration alone, it certainly looks promising.

The gameplay video below was previously shown to press at E3, but this is the first time it's being released publicly. The trailer is narrated by lead designer Jess Lebow, and it shows off the game's sprawling environments and new features such as a drone that lets you survey a scene before lining up your shot.

CI Games also reiterated today that the Sniper Ghost Warrior series has sold more than 5.5 million units to date across its two prior installments. Sales at that level make it the company's best-selling franchise. The original Sniper Ghost Warrior was released in 2010, with a sequel arriving in 2013.

Providing input on Sniper Ghost Warrior is former Marine and current CI Games creative director Paul B. Robinson. Lebow, meanwhile, has worked on franchises such as League of Legends, Far Cry, and Guild Wars.

Looking ahead, a new Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 demo will be shown during Gamescom next month. The game is scheduled to arrive in the first half of 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
