Warrior Kings pushed back

Microids teams with Softek International to distribute its 3D real-time strategy game, causing a delay in the game's release.

Microids has announced a deal with Softek International to distribute its games in North America. Under the deal, Softek will distribute Warrior Kings, Master Rallye, and Ski Park Manager. The new arrangement has caused a delay in the release of Warrior Kings as Softek takes the necessary steps to ensure that the 3D real-time strategy game is well represented in all major US retail outlets. The game is now scheduled for release on April 15.

"With the soon-to-be-launched Warrior Kings, we felt we needed to make a commitment to having a strong retail presence across the USA," said Marc Robert, general manager of Microids Distribution. "Softek's expertise seemed best suited for our specific needs, and we feel this agreement will accelerate Microids' expansion across North America."

Warrior Kings is set in a medieval fantasy world, and it lets players assume control of one of three factions--the holy celestials, the mysterious pagans, and the technologically advanced renaissance faction--each of which has a different set of units and abilities. The game is scheduled for release in North America near the end of the month. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
