Blizzard Entertainment has today announced that more than 1 million copies of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne have been sold worldwide since it was released last month. The game is Blizzard's eighth to reach 1 million in sales, and it has been topping PC charts in North America, Europe, and Asia.

"We are very excited about the worldwide demand for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne," said Mike Morhaime, Blizzard Entertainment president and cofounder. "We put a lot of effort into giving players more of everything that Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos offered, in addition to a host of new features, and the expansion set's popularity tells us that our long hours and hard work have paid off."

Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne is the first expansion pack for the 3-million-selling Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, and it adds a number of new features to the original game, including new heroes, monsters, magical items, merchant shops, and missions.
