Blizzard has told us that it will release a Warcraft III demo at the beginning of December. The demo is coming many months after the game's retail release, but it will include three new single-player missions and three new multiplayer maps that can be used with the full version of the game. The new missions follow the events of the orcs' journey from Lordaeron to Kalimdor, which is only touched on in the game's original campaigns. The multiplayer maps can be played on Battle.net, and they allow for custom games (not ladder games) with teams of up to four players each.

The Warcraft III demo will also be distributed in AMC theaters. Starting this weekend, a new trailer for the game will be shown at AMC theaters before Die Another Day, as well as other major upcoming movies. The demo will be distributed as a part of a concession-stand promotion.
