WarChiefs demo invades GameSpot

Trial of Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs downloadable from GameSpot now; first two missions playable as Iroquois or Germans.

by

Flag-planting PC gamers will get a chance to claim new land, as GameSpot is now hosting the demo for Age of Empires III: WarChiefs, the first expansion to the real-time strategy game Age of Empires III. The demo is available at GameSpot Downloads.

The 517MB sample features the first two single-player missions that continue the saga of the Black family. There will be two playable factions to choose from--the Germans or the all-new Iroquois Confederation. Players' persistent home cities can be improved across multiple games as they explore the California coast in the colonial days.

The full version of the game, which hits stores on October 17, will support eight players and have a trio of playable Native American factions, including the Sioux Nation and Aztec Empire. New units and buildings will also be added to all playable sides.

Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs is rated T for Teen and will retail for $29.99. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.

It's good but just doesn't have the charm and pace of AOE2

Looks like it's good. I'm not a big strategy fan but I think the last time when I saw the Native American in a game was... AOE 2. Or not?

aoe 3 isn't a significant change in formula but it reminds me of the old days playing traditional rts' (WarWind:D) except it has awesome graphics.

To get homecities back just go to My Document\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Savegame and edit the homecity files using notepad. Just increase numpropunlocksearned, skillpoints and level..

I loved this game but as my Home City was nearing Level 25 with the Dutch, my Spaniard city just above 20, and the campaign completed all the memory was mysteriously erased. And there is no way in hell im going back to do all that again. So sadly i wont buy this expansion although i really wanted to have it. Anyone have solutions as to how i can get back data, not mine but at least someone elses so i can enjoy the expansion. I really wanted to play as Indians. I always said man they shoulda made indians a whole kit-n-kaboodle

Hooray! To quote PC GAMER, time to play AOE III as it should be, "with increased native american ass-whoop!".
