Iridon Interactive has today announced that it's working on a story-driven action game entitled Wanted Guns for the PC. The game, which is set in Mexico and the Wild West during the American Civil War, will see players assuming the role of a former gunslinger turned priest by the name of Reverend Devlin.

According to today's press release, Wanted Guns will feature stealth- and action-based third-person gameplay, horseback riding, and a first-person rail shooter mode. The game's back story is that Devlin faked his own death to escape with a large quantity of stolen gold and start a new life as a priest. Years later, though, a Mexican gang known as the Blood Hounds has plundered Devlin's church, butchered his flock, and stolen the gold. Needless to say, Devlin decides to go after the gang and their leader, Mercenario Perro Sangriento--a man Devlin knew by a different name in his former life.

Players will be armed with a veritable arsenal of authentic weapons including dual revolvers, shotguns, Winchesters, dynamite, a Mexican crossbow, and a razor-sharp Apache blade. When on horseback, players will also be able to kill enemies simply by riding over them. Locales in Wanted Guns will include the Mexican ghost town of El Cuervo Perdido, the abandoned mines of the McCrary brothers, and the mountain woods of Colorado.

Wanted Guns is currently scheduled for release toward the end of this year. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
