3dfx Interactive announced that its flagship video card, the 183MHz Voodoo3 3500, will be bundled with Compaq's Presario Performance line of desktop computers. The 3500 is powered by the same, yet slightly faster, chipset found in its Voodoo3 2000 and 3000 counterparts, but is set apart from the rest of 3dfx's line by its wide range of video capture and editing capabilities.

"The Voodoo3 3500 is the Voodoo3 family's premier performance product, designed to satisfy even the most demanding PC users," said 3dfx senior VP of sales Shane Long. "Voodoo3 has the architecture to bring even the most sophisticated 3D content to life with blistering speed. With Voodoo3 3500, Compaq Presario users can experience games and other applications with unequaled realism."

Coupled with its raw Direct3D and Glide performance figures, the Voodoo3 3500's TV tuner, FM tuner, video out, S-video out, and MPEG-2 capture make the card a complete entertainment solution. The 3500 is available immediately in select Compaq Presario Performance systems, and will hit retail shelves in PCI and AGP variants for around US$249 within the coming weeks.
