VM Labs announces the new official name for the system formerly known as Project X.

Comments

As we reported yesterday, the name of VM Labs' Project X technology has changed. It's now officially known as Nuon, a name that VM Labs hopes will become sysnoymous with the future of digital entertainment media. Unveiled today are the system's logo (which will adorn hardware and software compatible with the format) and a web site dedicated to Nuon.

In case you're unfamiliar with Project X (or Nuon), it's a technology that will be built in to DVD players, digital satellite receivers, and digital set-top boxes to provide a wealth of interactive entertainment including movies and video games. Nuon-compatible boxes will be manufactured by consumer electronics companies such as RCA and Thomson Electronics.
