Chris Taylor is a hard guy not to admire. He first got the impulse to "go indie" when he saw Sid Meier's name on Pirates!, back when he was a producer at Electronic Arts. The bug to start his own studio bit hard and against all odds and eventually put him on the road to independent game development. Today, as president and CEO of his own company, Gas Powered Games, he's living the dream so many game creators only imagine. But the dream doesn't come without its price. Taylor went into some detail about the process behind independent game development in his first D.I.C.E. presentation a few years ago, after completing Dungeon Siege. Just last week, in his second D.I.C.E. appearance, Taylor talked a bit more about the personal lessons he learned over the course of making his just-wrapped Supreme Commander. Have a look at the all-too-hidden GameSpot News Blog and this follow-up conversation with Chris, shot just this afternoon.
