Valve teams with Dark Horse for comic - Report

Gamemaker working with publishing giant for <i>Valve Presents: The Sacrifice and other Steam-Powered Stories</i> due out November 16.

Valve is no stranger to creating comics based on its Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, and Portal franchises, as they have appeared on the company's websites for a while now. However, gamers looking to read them on paper instead of a screen will soon have that opportunity.

According to Comic Book Resource, Valve has teamed with comic book publishing giant Dark Horse for a new comic titled Valve Presents: The Sacrifice and other Steam-Powered Stories. The listing states that Michael Avon Oeming is the author of the book.

According to the product description, the book will include over 300 pages of comics from the Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, and Portal franchises. It is expected to debut on November 16 and sell for $30.

I'm not sure what to think about this...Dark Horse prints some great lines, but I guess we'll have to wait and see how this turns out.

Its like Valve doesn't even make video games anymore, they went from a developer to a publisher...:( Portal 2 doesn't count, they just hired the people who thought of it, same for l4d.

Dark Horse would be a good choice to do these comics. Or even Vertigo. They comics have aedge to them that others don't. I will definately seek out these comics and pre order them at my local comic shop.

it just a republish of all the comics already available online for free. Its cool and all to make a comic but... you know, I've already read them, so I'm probably not gonna be buying this.
